You make the decision to trot him out there. As a coach, your job is to put THAT player in the best situation to win.
It may be a minority view, and I really like Jim Chaney. But, I was just frustrated with lower percentage calls on 3rd and short. On 3rd and 3, they put trips right. The ball was on the left hash, and the trips were wide. It appeared that Hyatt was the primary, and he was open, yet it required a 20-25 yard pass across the field. Pruitt mentioned that the WR's were not always in the right spots, and maybe that is one of them, so that's not on the play-call.
But, it's all about probability to convert, and with a QB like JG, you have to give him a better chance.
