Not really bold. That’s JG every Saturday. Maybe it’s bold because 0 interceptions.

JG has the lowest int rate of any QB in school history who has more than 400 attempts. And before anyone says it’s because all his passes are check down dink and dunks, his average yards per attempt is 8.0. For reference, Manning’s was 8.1 for his UT career. JG doesn’t get you beat, he just doesn’t wow anyone with a ton of TDs

True I guess it’s because he holds onto the ball too long and then throws it away.

The biggest issue is he can get it to the redzone but can’t finish.

JG can’t be compared to Manning in many areas except the one you mentioned. Manning finished with 89 TDs and Guarantano has 32. I’ve seen players with 32 in one season.

Watch the Indiana game if you need reminders of his flaws. Should have won by about 3-4 touchdowns.

I like that pick. I would be more likely to say he will lead in catches but not yards. Palmer will edge him. Could have that backwards tho.
Selfishly I hope you’re right. I think I’m as big of a Josh Palmer fan as there is on this board. I think his ceiling is incredibly high and I said he needs to be our go to guy in another thread. Would love to see a 6-8 touchdown season where he has between 750-1000 yards.

I dont have a feel for the game but the usual trend is slow start by JG and Ut makes the opposing qb look like an all American. SC 27 UT 21.

Our OL dominates the line of scrimmage allowing us to establish a powerful running game early. JG makes some easy play action completions early building his confidence and then makes some great downfield throws. He’s done by the first series in the 3rd qt with over 200 yards passing as UT builds a 28 point lead. We see many new names in the second half with fans reminiscing the nineties. 2020 suddenly becomes a good year. As we enjoy the victory, we see the news of Alabama being upset. Life is good.

JG hits a WR slant right in stride for a big gain then follows it up with a screen completion and actually places the ball up field where the back can catch it without killing his up field momentum and we get another 1st down. Coach Chaney is so overcome with excitement that he has to remain on oxygen the balance of the game but passes out anyway late in the 3rd qtr when JG actually feels backside pressure and avoids a sack. Vols win 39-14! GBO

Matthew Butler lives in the backfield a majority of the game, and Jaylin Hyatt scores on a quick pass he takes all the way to the house. Vols win by 10-14 points.

Give me your bold predictions for Saturday’s upcoming game at South Carolina.

I’ll start: Defense or special teams will put the first six points of the season on the board.

Dumbledorange is in attendance...........minus his recorded movies, but he did supply a nice tailgate with fresh veggies out of his half acre garden.

There will be defensive line challenges and tackling wrap up issues in first half for South Carolina. 3 Long runs in first half by UT and two of them for touchdowns
