Don't the test results take a few days, at least? Last I heard UT had 5 day tests, but hopefully we are faster now.

Bigger issue is you likely won't test positive for the first 4 days. I've heard day 5-7 after infection is prime time for testing. Which is probably why CDC says 10 days of quarantine, with results lag.

Agree 2-3 weeks is nuts.
In August the government approved test that can give you results in 15 minutes without a lab. There is also a lag of when a person was exposed to a virus and when they are notified they have been exposed to it through contract tracing. I'm not a scientist and I'm ignorant, but this seems like overkill for what they are doing and ignoring test results to let players come back.

The last I read on rapid tests was the B1G being hopeful it could be in widespread use by October sometime. Hopefully UT is in line to get some...behind all the HC workers, elderly, etc of course. That would certainly change everything. 5 day tests or whatever we seem to have ain't gonna cut it.

Pruitt said some guys that will be playing early haven't even blocked or tackled yet smh

Funny how teams just don’t play.... like come on really.... just put a product on the field
They need to come up with some rules at least. Otherwise you'll have an SEC team go partway through the season undefeated and skip out on a big opponent to lock into the seccg/playoffs. Teams are going to dodge. Maybe not blatantly, but if they feel even a bit of a disadvantage, they could opt that direction and claim inordinate contact tracees.

We saw how Navy looked not practicing tackling. From videos it looks like they have been physical at practice, probably just a handful that Pruitt was talking about, where Navy it was the whole team

Beat scar. Cancel rest of games. Finish undefeated. Claim natty.

I don't believe in the whole "mark of the beast" thing but I think facebook is as close as it gets.
I would dump Facebook in a heartbeat but unfortunately you have to have a personal page to have a business page and I get a lot of leads from my business page. I'm rarely on my personal page and haven't posted in years.

I'm not as concerned with contract tracing as I am with how it's handled. 2 or 3 weeks is ridiculous. Quarantine them for 3 days. Test them the first and third day and if both are negative let them play again.

I agree that 2 or 3 weeks is way too long. We had a possible positive test in our office, and doctors were saying 5-7 days. But, that's better than 14.

They're some of the most in shape and athletic humans on earth. If they can't handle what many high school football kids do every week then the schools should look at their strength and conditioning again

I don't understand. If you have 75% of your OL or DL or even LB's out, then I don't know how you play. You can't just plug in a 250 pounder on the line. That's probably more dangerous than Covid.

Edit: Now I see what you are saying. I don't view your angle as the primary problem.

Hes mentioned ties to coaches and has the ability to talk to coaches fairly regularly. Imo hes a former player, ive always sorta thought ATL is either where hes from or where he lives now. We just need to find a list of all Vols from Atlanta that played with and under Fulmer and go from there.
Leave it alone...seriously...doing that would be pure stupidity. It isn't any of yours, or anybody elses business who I am, and it isn't yours, mine or anybody elses business who AtlantaVol is. 😡

I hope the mods jump all over anybody that does that.

Deactivated mine when I got married. Best decision I’ve ever made when it comes to social media

My daughter set me up a FB account about 10 years ago as my birthday 'surprise', as she said it was a way to connect with old high school friends. I told her that any HS friends I didn't stay in touch with after HS were the ones I didn't want to stay in touch with. Anyway, she talked me in to trying it and I got on there a handful of times over a 3 month period during which time I confirmed what I thought - I didn't want to reconnect with people I had not stayed in touch with. That account has long since been deactivated. Never have had twitter, or instagram, or any other social media.
