SEC still planning on playing season.

True.We had two others that said they were exposed to people with it .So we sent them to get tested and home for two weeks. Both tested negative and both came back after the second test two weeks later. It's not rocket science. If you are exposed get tested and stay quarantined for two weeks. We all wear masks inside the building and wipe everything down 4 times a day.
It's not really any different than any other illness. You have people looking for research funding and a splash saying it "can" cause any symptom under the sun, you've got the media that created massive hype talking about how it "lives on surfaces" for two weeks and the sun wouldn't kill it, and on and on and on. And as we continue on we find out that most of that crap is either entirely untrue or totally misrepresented.

We get inundated with stories of "healthy" people dying from it, but healthy people aren't immortal and can have issues with things, too! I had a girlfriend in high school that got a basic viral fever in a little outbreak at her elementary school and ended up hospitalized for three weeks as a 7-year old. It happens! Our bodies all react differently! Even then, there's actual data now that shows us all that this disproportionately damages the same populations that damn near every illness affects disproportionately.

Basic sanitation stops this thing, not panic and insanity.

100% correct about sanitation. My gym has done a incredible job with keeping things clean and wiped down. We have been using it for two months with no reported cases.

Dang man! Was the elementary school o.k. with high schoolers hanging around up there ? 😁

Sorry (not sorry ) just trying to add a little levity to a bad situation .

Why would any true fan of Tennessee football want our team to play in front of an empty stadium or one limited to 50% of capacity?

Either do it all the way or not at all.

I completely disagree. Why would any true fan of Tennessee football advocate canceling the season because we (fans) cant attend the game in person?

Exactly. We are always going to have disease it's part of life. How many players have played with the flu bug, never tested never shut down several players would get sick and miss a game. It's called life look at the evidence this virus has a 99.5% recovery rate. And info is coming out now from CDC and other agencies that the numbers have been cooked for hospital's to receive money. If NFL players can opt out of playing then why can the rest of us opt out of the virus craziness?

So, let's look at the worldwide numbers. Is there a higher probability for a young, healthy athlete to contract and suffer serious complications from CV19 or to be severely injured on the football field, the team bus, his personal automobile, or in an accident on campus?

CBS Sports

I just saw a report from the Detroit Press that says that the BIG 10 voted 12-2 to "cancel the season" with Michigan and Michigan State voting to cancel, but the source was not named and further stated that the BIG 10 and PAC 12 would announce they are "canceling the season on Tuesday". The story also stated the the ACC and BIG 12 were on the "fence" while the SEC was looking for teams to join the conference for one year to play a season. Again, no source provided by Dan Patrick . . .

This is not a pandemic, it's hysteria gone to full blown insanity!

God, we need a football season . . . 12 months on here without football will be like the movie "Dumb and Dumber" mixes with "Groundhogs Day" . . . OMG, the insanity!

It is always interesting to read non scientific people comment on scientific issues.

It's even more interesting when anonymous Internet posters make assumptions about other anonymous Internet posters with no information.

Maybe what one prints/says identifies the knowledge of the writer. Those who don’t know continue to think they do.
