I think Maurer as a true freshman beanpole certainly proved his toughness and heart last season. But yes, we need him to put on weight so he doesn't get snapped in half...

Wonder if we will ever see Hill?

There’s no reason Hill ever needs to take snaps. HB has four games. Brian Wild Thing Maurer can provide sparks when needed and JG can come in out of the bullpen to steady the wayward ship.

Per Rob Lewis:

I have talked to a couple of people that I trust tonight who are close to the situation and I’m led to believe that no one, including Yves Pons himself knows what he’s going to do.

Not having a combine, not being able to work out for scouts has made an already difficult decision for a potential 2nd round guy even more difficult.

He is pushing it to the last minute.
Needs to work on some offense. Plenty of exposure on this next team if he comes back

We are going to be talking about which of our quarterbacks is better all year. Bailey probably needs to mature a little, but it is going to be hard to keep him off the field. He has all the physical and mental tools and what I am hearing is a great work ethic.

Team is looking surprising good and quite sharp so far in the work they are doing. The coaches were caught off guard at how good the kids have looked to date. I am getting a very positive vibe internally right now which I have not gotten before. TIFWIW
I just hope you understand that it's probably all over the Football Forum that you you've predicted 13-0 and A National Championship

From a poster on the Gator board

"Copeland just finished a live video on Instagram where he had some wild takes, and I’ll summarize them real quick:
-he wants to get paid
-Says the coaches don’t care for the players
-Someone asked if Mullen was a racist he responded with “what do you think”
Throughout the broadcast there were a few current players chiming in

Obviously these are some heated takes, but I was surprised by some of them."

JG is all head...he does everything right in practice...correct reads etc. As soon as he enters the game he has a complete mental breakdown. Throws it to exact opposite spot of what the situation calls for. He drives the staff nutty.

BM has a TON of upside. He can run and throw and throw accurately on the run...his biggest issue was time with the playbook and his health. I believe if he stays healthy and can prove he knows what he is doing he will be our QB.

HB...very good raw talent...but not a superstar from day 1. Could he be...yes but he is not the knight in shining armor everyone is making him out to be. Every coach I have spoken to all agree that he has the fundamentals to be a very good qb and what remains to be seen is how he will play in a college game when the lights go on. Could he be great...yes but we won’t really know until he sees the field.

Apologies on taking a while to respond, but we appreciate the info you bring. 👍

Honestly, I would love to see JG turn the mental edge and get through whatever is causing him to lose it during a game. I don't personally know him, but he seems like a good guy, works hard, tough, and represents himself and the university well (in before Ga. Tech game comments). I really am rooting for him to make it this year, but I have my doubts.

BM, completely agree he needed more time in the playbook. Still, I like his swagger. He can sling the H-E-double-hockey-stick out of the ball. Can't wait to see how far he has come with an off season underneath his belt, albeit a weird one.

HB, I'm glad to hear the staff has a positive attitude about him. But I'm also positive that the staff isn't trying to force him to be the One like a lot of posters are wishing he is. It does wonders for every FR QB to sit the first season and just establish a good relationship with the coaches, the team, learn the playbook, MAYBE get a drive or two in during a cupcake game when we are up by 30-40, and just soak it all in. I hate constantly hearing how the next guy is our Heisman guy. Let me learn first.
