BuT HaRrIsOn BaIlEy Is ThE TrUtH, PAUWWWWWWWW!!!

But seriously, I hope JG and BM are showing they have improved from having an off-season with the playbook and working on mechanics. Can you expound on any QB info, @Atlanta VOL?
JG is all head...he does everything right in practice...correct reads etc. As soon as he enters the game he has a complete mental breakdown. Throws it to exact opposite spot of what the situation calls for. He drives the staff nutty.

BM has a TON of upside. He can run and throw and throw accurately on the run...his biggest issue was time with the playbook and his health. I believe if he stays healthy and can prove he knows what he is doing he will be our QB.

HB...very good raw talent...but not a superstar from day 1. Could he be...yes but he is not the knight in shining armor everyone is making him out to be. Every coach I have spoken to all agree that he has the fundamentals to be a very good qb and what remains to be seen is how he will play in a college game when the lights go on. Could he be great...yes but we won’t really know until he sees the field.

Duh. I understand that. I doubt anyone mixes coke with whiskey because they want their drink to taste worse.

The question was, why mix coke with fine whiskey? The coke will become the dominant flavor in the mix, unless maybe you are just adding a splash of coke, but if you are pouring a 2-finger mix of whiskey and then filling the glass with coke, why waste your money on expensive whiskey? iI you are drinking more to get high than enjoy the taste of the whiskey, there is no point in using more expensive whiskey.
I drink my whiskey straight or occasionally on the rocks. My wife likes mixed drinks. No biggie normally.

One day she asked me to try a mixed drink she was drinking. Something fruity...not sure what is was. I said no. She told me I should stop being such a "macho man" all the time and try something different. Said I should get in touch with my feminine side.

I said...sure, ok...I then proceeded to walk over, pour a shot of whiskey...walk over to the sink, and pour it out. She looked at me and asked what that was all about. I said "well, you're a girl, and you wouldn't have drank it either. Feminine enough for you?"

She called me an asshoIe and walked out of the room. We have never had that conversation again.

I know HB just got here but since CJP has been here all the QBs have lots of talent but none seem to have the right mental? Is that on the coaches?

The coaches have done everything known to man for the QB’s from a mental perspective. You either have it or you don’t IMO. I am just hoping if JG does play he has had a “mental breakthrough”

Any other tidbits you are hearing about how guys are looking? Maybe, which ones the staff are expecting/hoping to breakout this year?

As someone that has actually been inside of collegiate athletics, athletes do get paid stipends besides the access to facilities, nutrition, and coaching they get.

The thing that gets lost in the sauce so often is just how large the combined price tag on all the amenities that P5 athletes have. Higher end P5 schools have better facilities than many professional organizations, combine that with high end nutritionists, room and board, focused player development, and PR/MR actions. I would say that the total package is worth well over $200,000 annually on the low end. And, if they actually try, they get a degree which will helps with them being employed post-athletics.

Where are they going to make that kind of income as an 18-22 year old, unless they are the once every decade or so freak that could maybe make the jump to the pros at 18? They most certainly would not make that kind of income in a football developmental league.

As someone who played a D-1 sport I can tell you that if you gave players the option of either a state of the art weight room or cash money in their pocket that they earned by bringing in millions and millions of dollars to the university, the majority are going to take the money.

You don’t hear a lot of complaints from NFL players about the condition of locker rooms despite the fact many of the P5 programs locker rooms are much nicer and decked out in needless amenities such as flat screen TVs in every locker. Know why? Because NFL players are getting paid.

I’m in sales. I’d much rather get paid actual money for being good at my job instead of having a cool company car, or a cool office to go to, or access to state of the art sales training facilities. I bring in money, you pay me.

I’m not saying the players should get millions. But they should be able to profit from their NIL at the very least. Let them create their own market for earning and stop trying to limit their worth in the name of amateurism.

Team is looking surprising good and quite sharp so far in the work they are doing. The coaches were caught off guard at how good the kids have looked to date. I am getting a very positive vibe internally right now which I have not gotten before. TIFWIW
