Wow. I finally caught up to current posts, with no new. Lots of ignorance here on display. Some good food for thought on occasion as well.

As usual, I agree with Ras...who keeps trying to remind folks the issue at hand is police brutality. Not racism. I can only speak about my experience, but my family has never been harmed or held back by any racism, 1 white sister and 2 black, we are all doing just fine , if everyone else could just quit trying to destroy the country and let's all get back to work...that would be great.

I am extremely glad that my family doesnt watch MSM or the News so my kids havent really been exposed to this garbage. I have an 18yo son and 12yo daughter, and they know there has been some unrest and riots but all the ABSOLUTE IGNORANCE of virtue signaling, cancel culture, forced white guilt and unnecessary capitulation, highjacking by ANTIFA and straight up Socialist/Communists/ Progressives....my family has been and will not be exposed to any of that NONSENSE. Nor will they. We came from dirt floor poor on both sides of my family, and clawed our way into the middle class through the military ( Pappaw, Dad, Lil Bro til last 2 years they have all passed away)

Let me be real clear.

We dont owe anyone a damn thing except common courtesy, and we kneel only before God Almighty. Period.

We worked extremely hard for what we have, which isn't much really, but folks better just leave us the Hell alone. We will not be protesting, much less rioting...and those who loot , steal, beat and murder as opportunistic animals should be shot. Many of which are white and latino as well as black folks. Just bad people looking for an excuse to do bad things. Those that try to excuse their behavior based on a guy in MN are complicit in their crimes.

BLM and ANTIFA are BOTH garbage organizations with ulterior motives. BLM states their main goal is to defund the police. Small minded garbage. We need to improve police and eliminate brutality. ANTIFA wants to destroy our Country because they are Socialist/ Communist and they are domestic terrorists. They should be rooted out and destroyed to save our Republic. They hate the USA.

I am deeply saddened by the state of our nation. For the 1st time I am seriously worried about the world my kids will live in, especially when I am not here to protect them anymore. Liberals have shown that they would rather burn this country to the ground than have Conservatives in control. Their propaganda arm (the MSM) has fear mongered, virtue signaled, and faux outraged their followers and anyone who would listen for so long that all these young people are desperate and confused. Social media and the 24 hour news cycle have just bombarded these kids with so much false information that their brains don't know what real truth is anymore. They seem so worried, downtrodden, and confused. I am so glad my kids have not been indoctrinated like apparently so many have. They can see all of the opportunities that await them as an American citizen, and as Christian's.

We need to really pray for our country and for eachother. We need to treat eachother with respect and brotherly Love. We need to treat other folks and their property the way that we would like to be treated. We need to TURN OFF the television and not listen to all their lies . We need to pray more than anything else in my opinion. Go Vols.

That there had been violent protests is undisputed. I suppose it’s a separate thing he said that was actually true, but it was stated as the motive for wanting to expand the perimeter so I included them together.

Okay, let's put down the knives for a moment.

I think we can be assured that Barr is truthful in stating they planned to expand the perimeter because A) he's not lied before, that anyone can substantiate or reasonably imply B) he states he met with agency officials in Secret Service, FBI, DHS, Park Police, National Guard, DC Metro Police (on Monday morning) to coordinate increasing security at Trump's request.

That'd be a lot of people to keep under wraps about such a large, publicly blatant lie. Isn't it unreasonable to think such a thing?

Further, Barr stated:
Unfortunately, because of the difficulty in getting appropriate units into place, by the time they were able to move our perimeter up to I street, a large number of protestors had assembled on H Street. There were projectiles being thrown and the group was becoming increasingly unruly. And the operation to what… They were asked to three times if they would move back one block, they refused. And we proceeded to move our perimeter out to I Street.

The second part of your question, Pierre, I think one of the difficulties is that while there are peaceful demonstrators and participants in these protests, the instigators, those committed to violence, basically shield themselves by going among them and carrying out acts of violence. I saw the projectiles on Monday when I went to Lafayette Park to look at the situation. And as one of the officials said, he pointed out various knots of people where the projectiles were coming from and we could see… and it was a lot of demonstrators. And it’s hard to know exactly where they’re coming from. Frequently, these things are thrown from the rear of the demonstration, but we could not continue to protect the federal property involved and protect the safety of our agents with such a tight perimeter. I don't find a plausible reason to suggest Barr lied about anything. Further, it seems illogical to think that three days of incredible violence suddenly dissipated into peaceful demonstration when the various police agencies sought to expand the perimeter and enforce the curfew.

Maybe the old tall guy should have stayed on the sidelines since his balance was that bad. I know better than to confront police. It didn't take much to knock him down. At the very least, he should have put the helmet in his left hand on his head.
