You have to conflate "meaning" and fame for your argument to make sense, but they're different. Some deaths get talked about more than others and it's always been that way. I'm sure there were individual white people that died in terrible ways (or black people killed by other black people) during the slavery and Jim Crow era, are people raging against "the narrative" for them too?

Everybody dies eventually. Some go before their time. You will learn that as you grow older, and see your friends go. I have 5 friends on the Vietnam Wall who went before their time. One was Robert "Butch" Mason, a young black man who played first base when I played baseball. He was left handed and a hell of a baseball player. Also, Rae Rippetoe (his brother was a QB at Alabama under Bear Bryant and a classmate and QB of our high school team), Harold Stills, Donnie Swatsell, and Steve Torbett. Nobody, other than their families and friends gave a flying **** about any of them. Most of them were about 19 or 20 when they got shot and killed. 2 were in my graduating class, and one was a year older, one a year younger. Torbett was older by a few years. These names mean something to me, not Emmett Till or Floyd George or whoever.
