George Floyd Protest/Riots

Floyd has 5 stints in the pen, including forcible invasion into a pregnant woman's home and holding a gun to her stomach while 4-5 other black males ransacked her home. His 'new life' start apparently includes fentanyl. It's unknown what other fresh start activities occupied his time.

Was George still scum, technically? Did he or would he have done something like that again? Don't know. But he's certainly disqualified from being someone to martyr. Regardless of his alleged 'new leaf and new lease' on life, if he'd done that to someone I know, he'd still be a scumbag.

Should he be dead? No, but that has nothing to do whether he was a crap human being.

Literally none of that matters when talking about what happened to him. He was killed on camera, without due process, while a state enforcement officer kneeled on his neck without any remorse or care for his well being.

Maybe Floyd was a POS, I don’t know. But the issue here is police brutality. The only thing that matters in that respect is the police perpetrator and victim. Any other narrative takes away from that real issue.

I just saw someone post a tweet that they are trying to cancel all police TV shows. You have remarkable faith in this twitter mob lie riddled narrative to stay on course.

I would say 80% chance Floyd gets a statue by the time we are done here.

It has been debunked. Everyone is peaceful.

It is so farking Orwellian I want to drag him through the rioters who can use him for a pinata just before I shove him into the flaming structure and ask "Have you ever felt more peace in your entire life? No, no - no need to thank me"

Reports are that he is in serious condition. He's 75 years old. Didn't stop them from walking past him like he was trash so they could arrest somebody.

Here's where this whole outrage has gotten us. Here we have an incident about a taco shop in Columbus who got a large order from the State Highway patrol for 500 tacos. Three employees throw a fit and walk off the job:

These employees raise hell on social media. Threaten boycotts with the backing of BLM and at the very least the company is forced to close their Columbus locations for a day just to calm everyone down:

Taco store: No, we didn't fire our staff for refusing to serve cops; we are inclusive of everyone (huh?)

So tell me, what's inclusive about refusing to fill an order? I agree with the owners of this shop who said this:
America has raised a bunch of Nancys.

Nothing to see here. Old man probably didn’t return a library book in 1987. He was a POS and shouldn’t be bothered over.
They should have put two in his head, one in the chest. We can't have anyone disagreeing with the Red Hat coalition.

Legitimate question, are there any specific demands being sought by protestors at this point? I certainly recognize the source of their discontent and their desire for black people to be treated more fairly, but it seems as if I haven’t seen this concept clearly defined with well-outlined expectations that can be enacted with criminal justice reform. In contrast with 1968, is there some kind of legislation that will put an end to this?

I’m just not sure that we can allow the indefinite continuation of protests that frequently evolve into riots and, without something more concrete than “all lives can’t matter until black lives matter” as a guiding principle/goal, there isn’t a clear end in sight here.

? Good grief, is it too much to reach the post and understand the context of the reply? The post responded to Bham going a little overboard regarding someone calling Floyd a scumbag, unworthy of lionization.

"Should he be dead? No, but that has nothing to do whether he was a crap human being." See? I covered that, too. SMH

I don’t know what VBH said. My point is it shouldn’t matter if the victim was Mother Teresa or Charles Manson. It was a murder by a police officer. I fail to see how the victim’s background matters in the least.
