George Floyd Protest/Riots

People speak up and denounce racism when it's really, really obvious and then do nothing about it.

fyp

It has nothing to do with caring about one message more than the other. Both have meaning. But you seem to be under the belief that when a racist act happens, it must have been condoned. Pardon my French, but that's idiocy.

When a racist act happens over and over and over because we refuse to do anything about it, yes, in some way it has been condoned.

Hell, even in this case, we're not sure if racism was in play or if we're just dealing with bad cops. There is no solution where <poof> all the idiots are gone.

But there certainly is a solution where we are more aware of the problem and are more anti-racist than we've been

People can value both. You catch more flies with honey. CK could have done so many other things to spread his message. I honestly think he wasted his potential to be a leader. And it's a shame, because this movement could really use a sensible leader right now.

Not sure I agree with this. How many groups have attained equal rights by just asking nicely?

First part, people can only respond to what they see. I've addressed racism, and seen other address racism, without it being broadcast on the nightly news. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not happening.

Second part, be specific. What racist acts are we seeing happen over and over? I'm not sure numbers will support your perception.

Third part, what is the solution? If you have one, maybe you should share it with everyone.

You misinterpret what that means. Look at how much Gandhi and MLK accomplished without resorting to violent action. How you conduct yourself effects how people will perceive you, and how they will hear your message.

Its sad that its come to this in America, I haven't heard of those particular theories, but I have of others that talk about similar ideas I think

Here’s an excerpt from a really good paper out of West Point on Maoist Theory tactics that I’ve linked below if you care to read it.

Mao highlights that violence is critical to insurgencies. Yet it was not the most important element. The most important element was “the cause,” or the politics of the insurgent effort. Violence allowed “the cause” to advance, and it did so on five complementary and intertwined lines of effort: violence with politics, winning allies outside the movement, using non-violence to make violence more effective, and international efforts.

These lines of effort are the “answers” to five questions a counterinsurgent must ask of any irregular challenge:

1. What is the political content of the movement?
2. Who are its domestic allies?
3. How is it using violence?
4. How is it using non-violence?
5. What is it doing internationally?

Those idiots better listen!

"keep your silly s**t off the U.S. Interstate and U.S. highway system. Congregating in the roadway will only get you run over. Having people standing and blocking the highway is a threat to our physical safety, and we will respond appropriately to your attack. Standing in the roadway is NOT a protest. It is an attack on our safety. Air horns will sound, steering wheels will be held tightly, but those brakes will not be touched. You will move, or you will die. 80,000 pounds at 70mph will win every time. STAY OUT OF THE ROADWAY."

.

That’s a lot of words to say yes Trump shat on the 1A. Those people in that park, at the time of their removal, were not violent. Period end of story. He chose photo op over OUR rights.
I think I was referencing protestors and trumps pandering. When did violation of 1A show up for the party? Who had that conversation?

Love these dudes. Speaking TRUTH to ALL of us.

Some of yall need to listen to them, and take it to heart. Put away the fake "white guilt" that this liberal PC culture has forced on you.

Nobody owes you anything. Regardless of skin color, religion etc. Nor does anyone here need to feel any guilt for what MAY have happened 6 to 10 generations ago. We need to better ourselves, and love our neighbors. That is nothing new. This stealing and destroying our cities is complete and utter ignorance, and has absolutely nothing to do with a murder in MN...

Edit: that isnt the video I was actually trying to link. Different video, same guys. While I agree with the message of this, that these riots and stealing are just selfish opportunism...the tone isnt helpful. When you start insulting people, you just lost their ears to listen to reason....though they likely were not gonna listen anyway.

I will try to find the other video from them, because it is GREAT.

Edit 2: WATCH THIS PLEASE. FOUND IT!!

I love the twins, I watch them all the time . They are hilarious.

Always enjoy watching liberals get a hard does of reality.

It’s odd to watch so many people in this country that have panic attacks and anxiety just over a difference of option on social media , going to protests and then having an attack when they are detained or arrested . I don’t know how some make it through the day .

Said differently, if people are this ^ willfully unreachable, it's not my responsibility to cater to them. Probably still helps spread the message, though, because when they start throwing hissy fits, people can see just how much ignorance there really is
Guess what it’s not people’s responsibility to listen and agree with every single political view of every person either. He is coming from a position that facts don’t back a day serious issue and his message “cops are pigs” and the fact he is the biggest hypocrite in the world (comes from rich white family and claims to want freedom and justice but supports the views of Castro, not to mention making millions off Chinese slavery) makes him easy to not listen to
