George Floyd Protest/Riots

It merely presented the data.

Something to the tune of 3% of white motorists were searched. Then I believe it went on to say 11% of black motorists and 9% of Hispanic motorists.

Where did you find these statistics? What were the demographic percentages in the area(s) where these stats were compiled? This is important.

Where do cops tend to focus their attention? Crime ridden areas? Call it a coincidence.

Ehhhhh, that conflicts with response times in poorer areas.

I used to flip houses in Parkridge. I had a few incidents of theft and robbery and quickly learned after a couple that calling the cops was ****ing useless in certain areas.

Well I *did* have to coax you into saying it.

Poor people commit a lot of crimes. There are a higher percentage of poor black and Hispanic people within their respective demographics than poor white people in theirs.
But the aggregate is higher for whites is it not?

My cousin is a cop. It's certainly not something officially trained and it's not as widespread as some would say, but "racial profiling isn't real... but it works" is 100% a real thing.
It always cracks me up when agencies try to pretend like certain demographics are not likely to commit certain crimes than others..... sort of like at the airport when they vigorously search the elderly grandmother.

So it’s “not widespread” but is a systematic racism that needs to change? Pick a lane

By the way racial profiling iS a myth. Officers look at all kinds of characteristics including high crime areas, type of cars, movements, behaviors, etc. race is pretty far down the list unless they are specific suspects

But you were saying this was one of the statistics that need to change, and are making the claim that it’s race related. Simply showing the statistic that blacks and Hispanics are more likely to be searched doesn’t prove a systemic racism/targeting of minorities. Do you have any info as to why they were searched or are you just assuming it’s race related?

Being poor and stealing a loaf of bread is different than supposedly being poor and gang banging, keeping it real, looting, vandalizing, pulling a drive by etc.

Here is a statistic that I found interesting that does not involve the police.... it stated between 2007-2018 260,000 African Americans were treated at the hospital for non-lethal gun wounds while only 77,000 white Americans..... do you not think it could be an issue more with certain communities?
This is 100% accurate

They aren't mutually exclusive concepts, Ricky.

My cousin is a lot of things, but a liar would not be one of them.

Lol BS. Kpd response time in that area now a days is due to the liberal policies of the last two mayors. They are short staffed by nearly 250 officers thanks to them. KPDs response time 20 years ago was among the best in the Southeast

Nobody wants to be a cop just like nobody wants to be a teacher anymore. The bureaucracy and all the other bs turns good people away.

I've always found the loaf of bread expression to be odd. Who steals a loaf of bread anymore?
