George Floyd Protest/Riots

everyone is getting backlash.

On the balance I'd say actions on prison reform trump (no pun) commentary about Colin K.
I understand that actions speak louder than words. Unfortunately, the media will not highlight these measures because Orange Man bad and trump himself doesn't do himself any favors sometimes with his twitter finger. I'm all for Trump on twitter, btw, but feel that you have to take the good with the bad. Overall, I think his twitter presence has been more positive than negative. But, he does send out some dumb ones every now and then.

It doesn't need to make sense to you, and truthfully - we're having the conversation so, it clearly is drawing attention to the cause. I get it, it's inconvenient. Their behavior doesn't align with your value set and so it's incomprehensible but that doesn't make their objective any less valid. They are tired of watching their people get killed by cops on video, over and over.

Guess we need to go burn down the sanctuary cities in the name of Kate Steinle.

Take over? I believe the government was able to continue its operations. And they are upset with the government and targeted the government. The worst violence that was ever talked about was how they might spread Covid.

That tells you how far from an actual issue that was.

These riots are destroying lives, and what's worse its hurting the very people protesting. Not those they are protesting against.
Its like you forgot about all the standoffs out west. Republicans are snowflakes that cannot stand the taste of their own medicine.

Look, if cops want to pretend to be "warriors' then they ought to willingly and eagerly push to abide by the UCMJ then they are just useless thugs with badges.

For the most part he is right. A protest protesting something that doesn’t exist, at least certainly not to the extent portrayed, is a waste of time. Racism isn’t nearly as big of a problem in this country as victimhood, cultural issues, and entitlement.

Can a mod pin the gem? Everyone needs to see this and I fear that too many will miss it.

Given that they were crying about not being able get cheese fries at applebees versus a community outraged by another murder, I'd hope not.

I see you keep attacking me rather than my position, it's good for likes for the chuckle-bunch but it doesn't do anything to actually make a cogent point.

What is your position? That words are more meaningful than actions? That is a stupid position.

But please profess it clearly for me.

Lol UCMJ. Please.

Yet aren’t tired of their people being lawless. Being a police officer in large part involves dealing with scum of the earth on a daily basis. Has nothing to with race and if it looks like it does then just maybe there’s another issue that’s not being addressed. Cops deal with criminals, sometimes violent ones. Not every criminal throws their hands up when they’re caught breaking the law and goes peacefully. There’s a reason law enforcement officers carry guns and other weapons to subdue criminals. When they cross the line they should be dealt with but let’s not pretend there’s not a level of violence needed to perform their duties. If Floyd had run at them with a knife and he was shot the result would be the same.

I feel empathy for the upstanding peaceful people of these communities whose structures have been destroyed and having to just go thru this. MLK would not be happy with any of this.

“A riot is the language of the unheard” - MLK

He’d be fine with them. Republicans like to twist his message constantly

How many other heinous acts were committed by illegals? We can name our protest after one of thousands of victims.

Go protest it then. No one is stopping you - though racist ricky might think you're wasting your time.

To hell with the justice system when it doesnt work how the uneducated masses believe it should work!

Notice they still have not advocated a solution, just that there is a problem. What is funny is watching these Dem leaders talking about voting, without advocating what new laws they would implement. Certainly these liberal leaders cannot blame the issue on leadership. Political BS.

If the cop is guilty he will serve jail time and that is how it works.
