George Floyd Protest/Riots

Assembly, speech and association was seen as such an instrumental part of our country, it's right was codified in the Constitution.

Your ignorance is breathtaking.

Protesting the death of a zebra while advocating thinning the herd. Solid logic.

Um where did I ever say they didn’t have the RIGHT to protest? Talk about straw man. However violence and crime is not protest and doesnt fall under any “right” except in leftist’s emotionally stunted heads

You didn't, where did i say you said that?

I was merely pointing out that what you believe worthless and unimportant our founding fathers found necessary to codify.

Try and keep up.

You are having to conflate the acts of vandalism, arson, and looting with the right to assemble. You may want to restate your case.

No, you just haven't been following.

Racist ricky pointed out that all protest was worthless.

Peaceful protests should be ridiculed and dismissed as no one cares about the stupid things people protest about.

I'm not the one conflating, my point was simply that protesting is a fundamental right and was directly related and in response to this comment.

People arent upset at the protesting. Rick may think its ineffective but it's clear that isnt where most of his energy is. People are upset about the looting and arson and everything else.

People are upset at the way they are protesting. Again, I'm waiting for someone to make a convincing argument that it's not a valid form of protest when property being destroyed gets people more fired up than people being murdered by people sworn to protect and serve. I'm making the inconvenient argument that if it's getting your attention, it's effective.

It's not drawing attention to the cause. If anything it is linking the cause to looting arson and so forth. Which weakens the cause in the public eye. Which is ineffective. Imo. They are taking an easy win and making it ugly.

Most of what is getting destroyed doesnt make sense to me. I have only heard about government buildings being attacked in Minneapolis and maybe DC. The rest its burning up stores and offices. Where is there anger directed? From the outside what they are telling us is they are more angry at commerce than the government who caused this.

Yeah, unlike those heavily armed tacticool fat asses that take over government buildings.
Take over? I believe the government was able to continue its operations. And they are upset with the government and targeted the government. The worst violence that was ever talked about was how they might spread Covid.

That tells you how far from an actual issue that was.

These riots are destroying lives, and what's worse its hurting the very people protesting. Not those they are protesting against.

It doesn't need to make sense to you, and truthfully - we're having the conversation so, it clearly is drawing attention to the cause. I get it, it's inconvenient. Their behavior doesn't align with your value set and so it's incomprehensible but that doesn't make their objective any less valid. They are tired of watching their people get killed by cops on video, over and over.

For the most part he is right. A protest protesting something that doesn’t exist, at least certainly not to the extent portrayed, is a waste of time. Racism isn’t nearly as big of a problem in this country as victimhood, cultural issues, and entitlement.
