They have room for thieves and thugs, the politicians won't let them keep them in jail.
And I'm sure the jails are simply overran with people arrested for surfing :rolleyes:

The cops don't seem like they mind following orders to enforce beach or outdoor gathering prohibitions.

again, a HANDFUL of cops...how many of these arrests for violating orders have you seen in Knoxville?

Sometimes, in liberal big cities, they have no choice because their supervisor orders them to. That's why most people choose not to work in law enforcement in those places

Honestly, I think it would have happened with the Knoxville City Police had it not caused an initial uproar and the County Sheriff had to speak out against the practice without publicly throwing the city under the bus.
Someone in law enforcement was pulling people over and questioning where they were heading and trying to determine if they had a “legit” reason to be driving around.

Not in KPD or Knox County.. There were reports circulating that someone was doing that, but when it was investigated, it appeared to be "fake" police trying to scam people.

But i do agree i wouldn't put it past our Mayor to try and force officers to do something like that, but there is no one going to be doing that in this area. This isn't California, no matter how much the 4th and Gill crowd/UT Professors/Lib Mayor want it to be

Ah, I wish they would have done more to follow it up in the media regarding the scammers. That’s why I will never pull over for an unmarked with getting confirmation from 911 that it is indeed an officer. In some states it’s illegal for unmarked cop cars to pull anyone over for traffic related issues, and I wish it was that way every where. It would keep everyone safer.

I actually support unmarked law enforcement vehicles being used ONLY for criminal stings, not traffic violations. I just don't think they are necessary for that

I think this video is fair, the smart thing would be to make sure he understands he was banned from their property, and then the retirement center get an order of protection to prevent further harassment by this lunatic kid

banned from their property. The Order of Protection would cover that he would have to stay so many yards away from the facility, whether the sidewalk was there or not. This kid obviously has mental issues or is a sex offender

Why do black guys feel the need to wear hoodies even when it's hot outside? There is a black guy that walks around my neighborhood that I don't care how hot it is outside he wears a hoodie.
I'm all about comfort myself and I'll be damned if I'll burn my ass off to wear a hoodie when it's hot outside. Maybe he's trying to look like Billy bad ass and didn't have any takers?

because they can hide drugs/weapons/money easier and it's hard to grab or identify them during crimes or fights

I see infinitely more white women do that, and I listen to them complain about the office being 70 degrees.

Women are routinely known for having heaters under their desks in the summer while the AC is running. Can't say I seen one walking in 85 degree heat with a hoodie on though.
