So why moan about it all the time if you think JG is going to start out being the guy? As for the "lame duck toss ups", that's pure hyperbole. Regardless of how who or why it happened, JG was one of the best in the conference at completing downfield passes last season and with a better supporting cast there is no reason to think he won't continue to improve in that area.Pruitt gave all the QBs a shot and JG was unfortunately the best option. With no offseason program, JG almost has to start over HB. If JTD decides to come here he beats out JG, even on a limited timeline to learn the system. We won't beat OU with checkdowns and lame duck toss ups downfield.
Because JG is not a true/redshirt freshman making true/redshirt freshman mistakes. Then why not throw shade at them rather than hammer on JG all the time?
It’s okay Mr. Guarantano. JG’s blue ribbon will come with his letterman jacket. You make my whole argument and don't even know it. He was nearly perfect that game, converted 3rd downs when needed and a neverJG gives zero credit, what a surprise. That's fine by me because as our entire team improves so will our offensive numbers. JG may be average but he's more than capable of doing his part in team wins when everyone plays well, not just the QB. Up until after the Fl game we simply have not had many games when we played well in all phases, we did vs a good Miss St team out of the west and it ended with a win.
Terrible take. JG played great vs Auburn and everyone but the neverJG crowd has acknowledged his play that game. Beating Miss St, who at the time had the best RB in the conference was also a nice win and something we've struggled to do in previous years. Doesn't matter, you're a troll when it comes to JG and you'll likely be miserable when the season starts with him taking the majority of the snaps, I hope it gives you a bad case of heartburn!
JG is a terrible QB. Really hoping we land this guy.
Listen guy...you got me!..to be 100% honest with you.I will be miserable if he starts and so will everyone in the whole Volnation fan base with the exception of you,the whole FF and our Rival opponents. If you are satisfied with his pathetic record and stats then by all means be his girlfriend.i personally don’t care.what I will tell you though is this university has had much much more rich history than what we have witnessed in recent years past.
Great quarterbacks have come and gone from this Notorious legendary Football Program and I have had the privilege to witness some great moments up close so I know what a good “winning” QB looks like and Not have had to watch them from the nosebleeds like you’ve witnessed JG’s Horrible QB play. Its unacceptable.Lackluster to say the least. With all of UT’s great rich history at the QB position I don’t ever recall one of those Great or Decent QB’s being so selfish enough to try and take a game into his own hands against a such hated rival on their goal line in a super close (Winnable) game since Butch had them on the ropes....
It wasn’t until recent he lost the “its about me” butch mentality because he almost lost the whole team and Pruitt chewed him a whole New A$$.To you it’s one loss or maybe a coin flip but to me that one win SHOOTS! us back into “Relevance“ again within the media and the recruiting trail..I am so TIRED! Of losing when all we use to do is win!.Florida,Georgia and BAMA we’re nobodies! How soon those fan bases forget along with you....so yea I don’t like Jg because of that and he sucks those are just facts.
JG is technically at another school right now because he wouldn’t have played another down for Fulmer,Majors or any other coach even Dooley...I have never questioned if a player ever reads the maximums or even if he smacks that beautiful sign before they walk out to give “their all”..but after that Game I questioned JG because it was borderline sabotage.

Weren't you the expert said we had no chance at Wideman?Never going to happen. They've already waived academic standards for incoming Freshmen and when the eligibility center gets back to work they are going to be covered up with all the problems Cov19 has caused. I don't think any new transfers are going to be granted waivers and that may include Cade May's as well.
He really is bad. Makes some great throws here and there but even Shrout made a few great throws in his limited time.
JG gets hype when we beat Kentucky and Vandy like it’s a playoff game. He just has that mentality. He had great WR groups and OL was stout most of last year. No excuses for some of the poor play he showed. He’s a 170 yard, 55% completion, 2 TD max per game Type of QB. I don’t see him throwing for 350-400 yards and 5 TD... having a game like that doesn’t seem possible with him (even against the worst team we play). I could see Bailey having a game like that against a garbage team as a true freshman. That’s the difference in talent AND mindset.
I didn't like the play call vs Alabama either, thought he should have gotten chewed out and should lose his starting spot because of it, all of which happened and it still hasn't really changed who our best option at QB is. As for the Alabama game, the roughing the passer penalty on Taylor was the game changer. Go back and look at the tape, we had them rattled, we were getting the ball right back after a successful drive with a chance to go tie the game. What happened after the penalty, Bama ran down our throats to go up 2 scores and then the JG play occurred. Had that penalty not been called I think we win that game, it was that big of a game changer.Listen guy...you got me!..to be 100% honest with you.I will be miserable if he starts and so will everyone in the whole Volnation fan base with the exception of you,the whole FF and our Rival opponents. If you are satisfied with his pathetic record and stats then by all means be his girlfriend.i personally don’t care.what I will tell you though is this university has had much much more rich history than what we have witnessed in recent years past.

I never whiffed on Beckwith as we had weekly conversations with him and his family. I always thought he was going to Tn up until about a month before he signed when all his conversations turned to Florida. He kept his decision close to the vest and I thought he was gonna pick Florida but was happy it was UT. Dee Beckwith is going to be a star in Knoxville, day 1 starter I feel. Glad to know you're keeping up with me though. It was Beckwith.
But, nevertheless, a major league whiff, just the same.
Now you change the goalposts. You're the one that said it said more about our other QBs was the reason JG keeps getting inserted. The sneak and fumble was a dumb play and he payed a heavy penalty for it but it wasn't anywhere near the game changer the roughing the passer penalty on Taylor turned out to be in that game.Because JG is not a true/redshirt freshman making true/redshirt freshman mistakes.
And (this being the final nail for me), because the true/redshirt freshmen were not the one's who decided to switch to a QB sneak and fumble the Bama game away on the goal line.
And, those things are just getting us started...
Is that your final point in this argument? Because I’m fine with that. I 100% will not be as excited for this season if JG wins the job. Better than lying to myself or being an idiot Jason Garrett type of clapper. We’re not winning 9 games with a QB who can’t throw a swing or screen pass. You'll be another one of those never right over the top neverJG guys crying opening day when JG runs out onto the field the 1st couple of games.
So, the fumble at the goal line returned for 6, a play where if we score we pull within 1 score, instead we are down 3 scores with 8mins left and completely out of it - that play wasn’t as much of a “game changer” as a BS roughing the passer pentalty?!? You’re either trolling or dumb. Sorry. No nicer way to put it.Now you change the goalposts. You're the one that said it said more about our other QBs was the reason JG keeps getting inserted.
