Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Leach has been a head coach for 8 full seasons and his greatest accomplishment is a Holiday Bowl berth. Yippee!!!
and Kiffin's? He was OC in the fricken PAC 10.. I dont hold the Raider stint against him.. Every HC at Oakland will fail til Davis moves to Sunny Meadows Retirement Home.

So I guess we'll settle for being an 8 win team that throws up 40 points a game and gives up 50?

This Leach junk is BS, he has already been in the SEC. How'd that work out for him under Mumme? His schemes will not work in the SEC nearly as well as they do at TTU because defenses are too fast.

yeah, that was sweet

leading the nation annually in offense is a close #2 for him
Yes, another guy who worships coaches who ring up 800 yards on the Eastern Washingtons and UMASSes of the world. Remind me, which championship do you get for statistical leaderships?

In fairness to Leach, he did take over a program at Tech that had to be built from the ground up. At the time they were riddled by NCAA sanctions and on probation.

Yeah, he was the OC at USC, not just any Pac 10 team. He also had a 3k passer and 2 1k rushers and led a higher scoring offense than what was there under Chow or Sarkisian. Not to mention he is a proven recruiter and could pull a dream staff with him.

I hate to break this to you, but in the last 2 weeks, his offense averaged over 600 yards per game against the # 1 team in the nation and the #9 team in the nation

I'll assume you're unaware of this

Whoopee, two good wins at home. Give the coach a prize. Also, anyone who thinks Oklahoma State is the 9th best team in the country has the intelligence of a box of hair. Remind me of all the good teams Mike Gundy has beaten during his tenure. Did you miss the question looking for Leach's best road win? I'm sure a coach of his caliber has a slew of them built up after 8+ years as a head coach.

With Leach
2007 9 4
2006 8 5
2005 9 3
2004 8 4
2003 8 5
2002 9 5
2001 7 5
2000 7 6

Before Leach
1999 6 5
1998 7 5
1997 6 5
1996 7 5
1995 9 3

I can't believe this is what UT wants? Where is the turnaround? It's one season with the rest about the same as without him.

well, he hasn't beaten Texas and OU on the road yet, which is obviously what you're looking for

at least he has road wins.. I do admit.. Butch is top of the list.. but kiffin? Has 0 road wins. Unless you count the one from the time he was OC at USC. but then in all fairness we should count Leach's road wins from when he was an assistant.

better than what we've got. but given the pool that haven't said they aren't interested i'd say he's the best.
