Gibson is by most intimidating pitcher ever. I was a fan even though the Astros have always been my team.
Toughest pitcher ever faced was about 6'3" and lefty. threw 3/4. everything was on a long arc. just away, away, arc. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Hitters that always talked said Smoltz had best pitches, Maddog's pitches never stopped moving. But, most feared pitcher, was Tommy Glavine. That circle change 😧

Testament to having a perfect delivery and throwing motion. Every pitch looked same. Cut that fastball in or out, then throw an 88 mph slider or 80 mph changeup. Thats why hes in Hall.

Let’s spend decades and billions fighting a war we can’t win!!!! What could go wrong?!?!?
Assuming you’re being sarcastic: what a loser mentality. This would be Vandy’s approach. Of course we can win. I’m not giving up hope on my loved ones trapped in this addiction

They changed the rules of the game because of Gibson. So, yeah, he was pretty good.

They didn't just change the rules they lowered the mound. He was brutal. A fastball no one could hit and he was not reluctant to let it go at your head. No one ever dug in to hit, it was just saying hit me.

But the best multiple pitch guy in my lifetime has to be Steve Carlton. In 1972 he wins 27 games for a Phillies team that only won 59 for the whole year. And he's the last pitcher to throw for 300 innings in a season.

That is what I meant. Unprecedented move. Carlton was great. Gibson was greater.

Glavine can suck it. Most over rated pitcher of all time. He also was a huge A hole during the 1995 strike.

Always disliked the braves (can't pull for Georgia), but respected all their pitchers back when the Braves were good. Their pen was so elite back then. I remember studying those guys, especially Glavine and Maddox.

So I’ve accepted a position working in media for basketball and football recruiting coverage.

Not going to plug it here, don’t want to rub Freak the wrong way, but I’m wondering what you guys value most in recruiting coverage: interviews with prospects, film breakdown, insider rumors, or something else?

Film and comps to past prospects. Think insider rumors probably drive more clicks.

Yes give me another 1990 offensive line
GIANT VOLS GIVE GATORS NIGHTMARES
That was so wonderful to read! I want our OL to be like that again. I think that we could have the players now.

Please let there be football this Fall. Please let us have an OL that will impose their will on every defense that they face. Please let Oklahoma be the first to taste our wrath!

Amen.

So many good players over the history of the NBA, I cannot say with certainty LeBron is top 5. Top 10, yes, but not sure on top 5. MJ, Magic, Bill Russell, Kareem, Kobe. Arguments for all 5 being ahead of LeBron IMO.

I agree in principle but Russell, Kareem (for most of his career) did not play great athletes. Bron would have dominated those eras.

The knock on Bron is clutch Gene which he improved and physicality....that's a product of his era. He would have destroyed folks in 60's, 70's and 80's. Nobody has had his blend of athleticism, skill and IQ.

Okay WTF is Volatil?

I am having major Vols football clip withdrawals. I am hallucinating that silly tall basketball player arguments are interspersed with silly legalize everything and close all prisons debates are overwhelming the RF football thread.
who the hades told Volatil that he was whoring for likes and ran him off?
