Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

No, you're right, we should snatch up Butch Davis before someone realizes it isn't the 1990's.
Yeah, because UNC isn't in position to win the ACC or anything. He's been there two years. Leach has been at Texas Tech for eight full seasons and has won fewer conference titles in Lubbock than Spike Dykes did.

Davis left Miami in 2000, Miami won a title in 2001.
He won his conference, played in a BCS bowl, destroyed a Steve Spurrier coached team in the Sugar Bowl, and finished #2 in the nation in 2000. Each of those accomplishments being infinitely bigger than anything Bluebeard has done in Lubbock since 2000.

Ask Mike Shula how good he thinks TT's offense is.

So your point would be Leach is a bad coach because he didn't go undeafeted every season? Leach took a perennial Big12 cellar dweller and made a good team out of it. Bad coaches don't do that.

He took over a traditional powerhouse and won with it. Leach took over a traditional loser and won with it.

Until you start supporting another fellow Mike for UT's head coaching position if Davis & Gruden say no.
lol

I like Gruden, Davis, Kiffin, Muschamp....after that they are all about the same imo. Leach, Graham, Patterson and Kelly....But, if I had to pick one of those four it would be Kelly

Miami's record five years before Davis took over 52-8.

Miami's record in Davis' first five years 40-19.

Texas Tech had exactly 0 losing season in the four years of Big 12 competition before Leach took over in Lubbock. I guess we should hire Spike Dykes.

Actually, if you look at the records of Texas Tech the eight seasons before Leach took over and the eight seasons under Leach (before this year) they look pretty similar, especially the conf. records. So I wouldn't go as far to call them a traditional loser.

Please recite the years in which Spike Dykes finished with a losing record after the Red Raiders joined the Big 12. Oh, they don't exist. That's right, with the exception of this season, Leach has pretty much done nothing out of the ordinary in Lubbock.

That's a completely bogus comparison since Davis took over a program in disarray and faced some heavy scholarship losses due to Dennis Erickson's violations.

How dare you interject facts in an attempt to discredit Long John Silver?

Facts are irrelevant. Bow to the power of Captain Queeg.

LOL, if Davis can't coach a team in disarray what makes you think he is ready for Tenn in it's current state.

To be fair Hat did say what is wrong with using "facts" and said that there is evidently no need to add context so Judges say this gets a pass.

I'd love Gruden but I just don't see it. Davis will bring the players with him & have the longest possible stretch of time to put a team together...& I think he would.

Kiffin & Muschamp are along the same lines of Leach to me. We've got a defense. We need OFFENSE my man....Leach brings a crapload of history of getting average players to set NCAA records....Kiffin brings a nice offensive resume to the table as well. Muschamp is one I'm not sure about but he does have a SEC background. I'm just not so sure how important that is these days.

So do me a favor Mike.....if Gruden & Davis say no & it's down to Kiffin or Leach....get out your patch & your pirate flag

We're a walk in the park compared to the trainwreck that was Miami in the mid 90s.
