The loss of rationality or the concept of trade offs is the biggest issue to me.

It is taboo to discuss.

"If it saves one life then it's worth the cost."

If you dare to even mention the dire economic consequences of essentially breaking the economy's legs, you're just a heartless bastard. And at that point the possibility of rational discussion is gone.

Agreed. I am left to really wonder what it would take for a significant portion to protest a president's or governor's "order"?

Fear is one of the most powerful motivators there is . That’s why we lose most of our liberties during or right after a crisis .. “ To keep us safer” .

Who gives them that power? The governor is signing the executive orders, right?
You've done a great job updating the numbers. Rifle does too but with a very detailed report.

Please keep an eye on Sweden. That's the only way I am aware we can actually compare two similar countries with different approaches.

The gratification will not come from Biden winning, but from Trump losing.
Kind of like when KY beats FL in football. I don't give a crap that KY won beyond the fact that it was FL they beat.
In other words, things will still suck, but you'll feel better about it sucking.

We are on the same page there. Watching Sweden with an eagle eye. IHME has them projected at 18,000 deaths. Well above projections of Norway and Denmark.

They're saving the economic consequences for later. Something else to blame on Trump. If Biden gets elected, you know the economy will never be his fault, but Trump's. Even if they wanted the shut down that created it.

That's the frustrating part. So many are willing to just sit it out or vote for the more evil of the two choices.
I'll sit until, A. I have a candidate who earnestly shares my concerns. or, B. my vote might make a difference in TN. Until one of those happens, I got better things to do.

FL winning would have sucked more than KY winning.
It's not overly complicated in my view.....vote for the least evil candidate who advances your objectives.

Luther, do both Fla and Ky use deceptive recruiting practices, have bag men, and shade as many rules as possible to land the recruits they want?

Of course, but on the continuum.....

And that justifies everything.

I think you might find yourself surprised at the side of the issue you'd be on for something generating that type of protest in today's society.
