Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The ones pushing these knew they could say they would be right either way. If the death counts ended up what they originally said then they could say “see we were right all along” and if they were wrong they knew they could say “see by us putting you under house arrest we saved hundreds of thousands of lives”

Just like Alien vs. Predator. No matter who wins, we lose.

Nothing will ever again approach the idiocy of nominating and elected Trump. That bar will never even be approached.
If Biden is elected it will. Trump is goof, but he understands economics and what helps business and the economy grow.

You are going to vote for a guy who doesn't know what day it is....and sexually assaualted a woman in the 90s.

Again, why was Trump in a bidding war with state governments for these supplies if obtaining them is the purview of the states?

The federal government has emergency response duties also, for military and federal law enforcement, Congress, and critical branches. And as a reserve stockpile to allocate as needed.

He was right; the states should not be mewling kittens bawling for the Fed to do their job for them. Get off your ass and try to source supplies, many that you should have already had, and THEN if you have a problem, we'll work together. States acquired a lot on their own and where they crossed procurement paths with the Fed, worked out the needs and logistics.

Okay, answered your question and mine regarding supplies.

CDC received the virus genome info on Jan 11/12, developed a kit and identified the first U.S. case on Jan 21. We had one of the earliest test protocols in the world.

It's been reported by every outlet on the planet by now that after developing the test used to identify the first U.S. case on Jan 21, and shipping kits on Feb 5 - the same timeframe as any other first world nation - that the test failed in the field and CDC spent the rest of Feb trying to identify and fix the problem. This was the most critical failing in the entire pandemic saga. If reporting is correct, FDA visited the CDC lab Feb 23. The outcome, at minimum, is that FDA found evidence of contamination and process deficiencies, resulting in the FDA official screaming at CDC officials across the table "if they were a commercial lab, he'd shut their asses down". States were still asking for and expecting replacement kits Feb 29.

Trump was meeting with industry leaders, FDA removed the exclusive test development EAU they'd granted CDC at their insistence, and opened the gates to a number of commercial and government labs. No later than Mar 10, testing was being conducted by some of these labs and in a two week span ending March, we conducted approx. 1.5 million tests.

I've already stated Canada is dumping milk. We exported $6B in dairy products last year. Mexico, Southeast Asia, Canada, China and South America were 2/3rds of that trade.
Maybe you did but government cheese ain't so bad in the grand scheme of the dairy industry and their still poring out milk. Can you put into a simple sentence what you think of Government cheese? Is it bad or good?

Many are but I hope there isn't one even if it means my family stops milking.
Forget about the capitalism aspect of dairy farming, the people around that dairy farm will always need free milk. Sorry. Can't give it to you. I need to make money. I need to limit the supply to increase my profits.

Where are all of the government cheese plants?

Your parents must be proud.

We're in this together. I think Trump's downplaying had a negligible effect considering you can't believe a word he says. Everyone knows this.

I didn’t say medically necessary, I said emergency. Vastly different. I need glasses but I don’t have them right now because I can’t afford them on even what most would consider to be good insurance. I also have what I’m guessing to be a cavity on the left side of my mouth and have had an undiagnosed pain in my left foot for at least 3 months all because I can’t afford to have them treated. Those are all likely require medically necessary treatment not emergency treatment.

So I’m left to manage those things without medical treatment. I’m not complaining about it, it’s just the facts of what I’m dealing with. In Canada I could at least seek medical treatment without fear of cost for the treatment.

Do you really believe that health insurance or care is free in Canada?

You can buy cheap glasses without insurance. America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses | Prescription Glasses | Contact Lenses

A cavity through most dental insurance plans will cost out of pocket around $70 or $80.

Before ACA almost all employer sponsored health insurance plans had a small co-pay for doctor visits usually around $10 - $20 after ACA most insurance plans require a deductible be met before insurance pays a dime. ACA has single handily ruined the American health care system.

After the disaster the ACA has been why would anyone trust the government for their health care needs?

It's not free after you turn 65. They take a hundred and some dollars out of my SS check. They charge me almost $40 for a prescription drug policy, and my Medicare Supplement policy is about $140 a month. So, my "free healthcare " is about $300 a month, and I don't use it. I go to a pay clinic, and pay by the year. I like the doctor.

Not to mention the 1.45% of your income that was taken for 50 years for Medicare

It is a good idea in theory, but folks can't even agree on which fact is true or alternative. Might be too much of an ask to get an agreement on what a liberal, moderate, or conservative is.
Oh I think the Liberals & Conservatives would be easy to define, and that’s ok.

I think it’s perfectly fine for the Court to be anchored at the ends by lions like Ginsberg & Scalia.

The trick would be identifying the “Moderates”. Would be much consternation over that I’m sure.
