Soooo...I walk by my son's room a little while ago. He's sitting on his bed with his tablet and has headphones plugged into it. Not in and of itself a big deal, right? I would normally think he was playing a game or watching videos about Fortnite.

But the look on his face told me something was different this time. I walk into his room and ask him what he is doing. He says "I'm listening to an awesome song, you wanna hear it?" Now I get nervous, wondering what kind of crap I'm about to have to listen to.

He says to give him a sec to restart it, then unplug the headphones...(i'm tearing up thinking about it)

He was listening to Joe Cocker "Whiter Shade of Pale".

Mad parenting skills....yeah, I got em.

Too bad we couldn't recapture that isolationist sentiment before Korea or Vietnam but by then the warmongers had already smoked the crack that was defense contracts.
And that was just step 1. Found to be very unfavorable at home. So then we went the operative/funding/dethroning method throughout Central, South America, and the ME.

The further we have stepped away from isolationism, the scarier our methods have become. Not that I want economic isolationism, but foreign policy would do itself a great favor to get back to avoiding foreign entanglements.

I'm so lucky. My son's collection is 80% 1960-85. And everything newer, I completely approve of.
Says he's tried his friends music and it's "complete garbage".

Did he cover that song? Not sure I've heard that version.

Such a fantastic voice. Honestly don't know of any of his original work, but maybe the best cover artist of the 20th century. He definitely enhanced decent songs into great ones.

Is it? I’d like to think so, but with our government telling us that literally anyone who dies of anything but also has covid is classified as a covid death, we don’t even know how many have actually died from this thing. I’m beginning to think these models that have time and time again been shown to be utterly absurd, scared us into overreacting and shutting down our economy costing millions of jobs. The thing is contagious but death rate seems super low. It seems to me that there would’ve been a better way than this.

Dead is dead. Bad lungs by themselves, not dead. Bad lungs with CV, dead. Suppressed immune system by itself, not dead. Suppressed immune system with CV, dead. Just a couple of examples, but dead is still dead. As far as numbers, not every death is tested for CV so undoubtedly there are some going uncounted.

If my life depended on listening to Dr. Fauci or Rush, I'd go with the Doc everytime.

Yes. He covered it. The original is really good too though.

Did you introduce him to what good music sounds like or did he just find his way there on his own?

I must know how to get similar results down the road. I can't have no Nickelback playing in my household. No Roll Tide and no Nickelback, or else they are out on the streets.
