This staff is a disappointment, whiffing on every high level prospect even though we’ve not won 10 games in over a decade, they can’t recruit their way out of a wet paper bag, and their game management skills are high school level.you know, there's obviously not a whole lot going on football wise these days...but unless it's all just smoke up the you know what, it sounds like TN is doing some really good things on the recruiting trail. seems like the bones of htis class are starting to form, and at least based on what's being reported, we have some general idea of what the board kinda looks like at this point.
as if this year couldn't be any weirder, i'm sure the recruiting calendar and season will get weirder, who knows what will happen if there is or is not an ESD, how visits will go, or when they'll happen....so im expecting this recruiting class to be a big time roller coaster before it's all said and done......
but, i do like some of the stuff that i'm reading about....seems like they're doing good work despite the circumstance.

I feel the same way you do, though. I really feel like they’re hitting their stride & building momentum. If we at least have an 8 win season and maybe a bowl win to add #9, we could reap the benefits next recruiting cycle and possibly snag a top 5 class, that would put us right back in the mix with Florida & Georgia. Two back to back top 10 classes then you sprinkle in a top 5? That’s just gravy on the biscuits, boys.

I do feel a little defensive about people downplaying the possible deaths. Viruses are complicated. If they do organ damage, you can have a cardiac arrest that was caused by the virus. I don't know if that's happening, but there are articles with doctors and experts talking about all kinds of complications. Really, autopsies are needed to determine that kind of stuff, and understandably that doesn't seem to be a priority in hard hit areas.
But I do agree. We don't know the true mortality rate. For one, we are usually calculating it against active cases. Some number of those active cases will also result in death. There are some number of deaths in New York that are likely Covid related, and they aren't being counted. Those things would raise the number.
To your point, yes, there are a whole lot of people in this country that have it or have had it that aren't getting tested. That would obviously drop the mortality. That would also drop the hospitalization rate. That's good for everyone. Where that number sits is anyone's guess at this point. I don't have a good feel for guessing that, but South Korea is probably closer than the rest of the countries. If it's a really high number, that's going to help us on the other side of this first curve since more people should have an immunity for some time after.
But the transmission rate, as you have also said, is high. Too many cases too fast are going to complicate our ability to respond to those that do require hospitalization, and that number is much higher than the mortality rate. That's why I urge caution with thinking it's overblown.
If you do kill them, please don't use a noose.Figured it was about as accurate as any other number being thrown out these days. Bottom line..."stay at home" sucks and I don't like it! I may end up killing my wife and kids over it.
If however, a couple of more weeks of it helps...I'll stay at home.
