if they are just prescribing the medicine without any clinical trials run to see the effectiveness as it relates to covid-19, 2 things are happening. You are depleting the supply of the drug for people that truly need it to treat malaria and autoimmune deficiencies. Also the price of the drug will skyrocket.
I haven’t seen him speak about it, but it would be very easy to track if so.
Again, if the doctor prescribes it then he prescribes it. People are acting like the president and the administration are making people take it. The only thing being said is it looks like it could work, if you and your doctor don’t see any harm in trying it, then go ahead.
It would be one thing if this were some experimental new drug that has never been used before. However this is an FDA approved drug that is understood and being used. I really don’t get the issue here.
You are incorrect.
He said to take it in advance of getting coronavirus. He has NO business saying that. Its incredibly irresponsible.
False.
Trump is telling people to take it BEFORE they get the virus. As preventative.
He is once again making stuff up. Just completely made up.
So, the doctor is a scientist, and passing on purely the highest form of scientific evidence, those based on randomized clinical trials. There are none. Which is why he hedges. The only way to get them is to randomly place patients into treatment and no treatment categories. This requires patient consent that you may possibly not get the drug they’re investigating could help you. How many people lying in a hospital bed, febrile and short of breath are gonna flip that coin? I have no inside data, but I imagine recruiting subjects may be tough.
Also, the hospitals in our area all have it as part of the treatment algorithm for anyone with a positive test. So though the evidence is anecdotal, it’s being heavily leaned on by more than just the clown-in-chief.

He can say whatever he wants. It still needs to be prescribed. The this is an FDA approved drug and the side effects and treatments are well understood. A doctor will not prescribe it if it will harm the patient.
What is the issue?
It's not FDA approved for this, which is the MD's point and why the president of the AMA said it shouldn't be prescribed without further study. Primum non nocere...
This is where I get confused. Why would it be okay for us to lock in the old? Shouldn't be okay to lock in anyone, right? And why the old anyway, I mean do they spread it easier than anyone else? As far as it being more fatal to them than younger people, if they don't care why should we? Should've just warned everyone about it and let everyone do whatever they wanted.
