Again, you're showing either you don't read the posts or you ignore what you've read, because I've given plenty of evidence here that I'm taking it seriously. Yeah, I suppose that does offend me. I'm not taking it in the manner and with the words you would like. That's the problem. Not just with you, but with a lot of people who can't handle someone disagreeing with them.

Weasel words offend me? Sorry, I don't even know what that means. But I have no reason to block you; I'm not upset; I don't have a problem with you disagreeing with what I say.

Weasel words are ones that hedge...like 'should', 'might', 'could', etc. I've pushed hard on this because we clearly have people here and in our communities who are not doing what it's going to take to keep this from hurting us. I'm done pushing. It doesn't help anyway. People will do what they will do.

I’m still working. When our business (wedding photography) started failing I went and got a job at Whole Foods. We’re down about $10k a month in income with the Airbnb losses and business income losses. I meet with a realtor today to put our house on the market. I’m hoping to clear a good bit and possibly move back to tennessee with the family.
Looking for a job right now is not fun, I’ll tell you that. Even with 10 years of very successful business ownership and some success in the workforce- it doesn’t seem to fit into the common employment profile. Not a whole lot of fun.
This sucks..

My guess is despite the attitude shown here often, that nearly everyone in the RF is acting responsibly, even if they disagree.

But for the general population, yes.

Don't care if people think it's overblown or literally, deathly serious, this isn't ending until the spread is contained. And those showing their proverbial rebellious asses, are dragging this crap out way longer than it should take.
Them not understanding that simple little detail, is getting to be a bit ridiculous atp.

Things will never be the same again I fear

No it won’t. People are learning fear outside of their comfort zone, but we’ve seen other events that changed us as a country, just in my lifetime. The end of Vietnam, the impeachment of a president, Gas Station lines in the 70’s, Desert Shield into Desert Storm, 911, etc. we will come out of this on the otherside, bruised but will come out of it, and hopefully learn from it. I’m betting we do.

To be clear, that wasn't a response to you. It was talking about the article.

I've seen this notion that the people who are dying would have died "soon" anyway. It's not necessarily untrue for many cases, but it sure isn't true for all cases. If you're talking about a terminally ill cancer patient, that's one thing. But some of these folks are pretty young and without known preexisting conditions.

It just feels weird to even talk in that context. Like, a few months for cancer patient isn't a big deal.
One word you use in there caught my attention..."some"..
This virus devastates the elderly and sickly..but it is definitely not any worse than the other big bad bugs for the rest of society...the numbers bear that much out. Yeah..some young people die with Covid-19...but way more young people die with the various strains of Flu.

If this thing didn't kill our elders with such ferocity...it would not be so scary.

My purpose has never been to scare or sensationalize, only to inform and encourage the right level of response. The first video explains the graph that Dr. Brilliant is referencing in his tweet. I found it interesting, but it may be too nerdy for many.

China being on that graph sickens me..their reporting is absolute garbage l.

All the quarantine accomplishes is slowing the spread. It’s not going to stop it which means this will last for god knows how long. Let the thing do it’s damage and move on.
So torn about this and have been from the beginning...I still can't really say how I feel about it. If left unchecked the damage would be horrific..but relatively quick. The virus would have quickly run out of people to infect, but slowing it down will save lives, but society may end up coming apart at the seams...people will not stay cooped up indefinitely, and clashes between the law and populace will cost a lot of lives and breed violence and hatred that we may never recover from.

People that think this home self-imprisonment can last more than another 4-6 weeks without mass craziness and unrest taking place are fooling themselves...peoples nerves are already becoming frayed to breaking points.

Where is the epidemiological study that supports your conclusion that this "is definitely not any worse than the other big bad bugs for the rest of society?" I haven't seen anything that supports your assertion, but I'm willing to read any legitimate study you've found that supports your conclusion. I did see an article today that says the death rate in southern states is 10 to 20% higher in the 20-50 age range and, with the exception of Louisiana, it's clear that the South is still several weeks away from hitting their peak numbers. (Probably as much due to lifestyle and health insurance numbers as anything but still it's going to affect the numbers.)

Agree that it is much more dangerous to the 60+ age range but I don't think we're ready to draw as wide a conclusion as you do with that statement. We're going to need to see the final horrific numbers before you can truly say it's not any worse.

Plus if the statement coming out of the CDC this morning proves correct, i.e. that this can be transmitted by mere breathing without touch or particle transmission (sneeze or cough) then this is going to be much worse than anything floating around out there.

What scares me is the possibility that this thing may not follow the regular flu which subsides in the summer months. What if it keeps on going?

But I have noticed in prior posts that you support taking all the precautions so I appreciate the fact you're not arguing that this shouldn't be taken seriously.

His rationale fails on its very surface. He's using data from urban areas which are already under local "lock down" to say that we need a state "lock down" because what we have isn't working? The "what we have" in those areas is a lock down. So how does a lock down help? The circular logic is dizzying. All this is going to do is create greater levels of both panic and anger. Neither is helpful.

What's he's doing is bowing to pressure from a bunch of folks who ought to be more focused on their profession and less focused on being twitter/petition activists. But the healthcare lobby in Nashville is probably the most powerful in the state and he is being told how he handles this will determine his political and much of his personal legacy by the folks who will go a long way toward helping him get re-elected or unseated.

For every one of us busy working and trying to kep another 6.6M people from losing their jobs next week, there are 2-3 who are doing nothing but peddling fear and victimization.

He retained so many of Boyd’s people to where the only real change was the governor’s seat. Still same old same old crap in 💩ville. People who helped him won’t be helping him next time. A lot of pissed off conservatives. He has shown ZERO leadership and is just a follower. He’s an Auburn puss who won’t be re-elected.

When you are 20, the dying are too far removed from you to be relevant. When you are 50 the people dying are the ones who raised and guided and taught us. Makes it a lot more personal, huh?

So this guy is trusting the info from China to be accurate and true? Just asking for Invol

This will keep this virus around longer than it should, IMO

You speak in such absolutes that even Dr F refrains from. Fear this Fear that. Geez

I could explain why that statement was factual and not opinion, but it won't change anyone's opinion.

I'll keep it to myself from now on. Nobody wants to hear it anyway.

It is an eerie feeling to go to multiple grocery stores and not be able to find meat and see a whole bunch of empty shelves. And then trying to sign up for butcher box and there’s a waiting list.
Well all these azz clowns that want socialism in America should be in heaven since it resembles what you find in stores of solialist/communist nations.
