Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Since we're doing exacts, Trump exactly stated Biden and Burisma should be looked into for exactly what Democrats accuse him of. And being the exact constitutionally-bound person to see laws are faithfully executed, can request the investigation - or cessation of investigation - of any person.

Being a candidate for an office doesn't exactly immunize one to lawful scrutiny, as we learned with candidate, nominee, and president Trump.
There are two things to point out here:

1) With Joe Biden running for president in 2020, President Donald Trump should not have directly involved himself in any investigation of Biden, because Trump had too much to gain professionally from the outcome of such an investigation. Such involvement by the president (who would have a personal stake in the outcome) would not accord Biden equal justice under the law. Sen. Lamar Alexander explained this very well in his statement on impeachment.

2) President Donald Trump also should not have withheld military aid to the Ukraine, previously authorized by Congress, in order to encourage such an investigation. President Trump simply should not have involved the messiness of American politics in the serious business of foreign affairs - but he did. Once again, Sen. Lamar Alexander covered this in his statement.

There is nothing wrong with investigating Joe Biden and/or his son, Hunter. However, President Trump should not have directly involved himself in any such investigation. If the conduct of Joe Biden and/or his son warranted an investigation, it should have been left up to the Attorney General, William Barr and the Director of the FBI, Christopher Wray to investigate. President Trump should have stayed out of it... but it is clear in the transcript of the July 25th phone call with President Zelensky of the Ukraine, that he didn't.

Weve been through this. Senate voted it down.

"See? Little Mario is upset now. I offer the guy unprecedented help and he's now very animated. Wasn't there an animated Mario in a video game or something? So he's not even the original, animated Mario."
"A ship! - I give little Mario a whole naval ship - I could have given the fore to NY and the aft to NJ, or given the bilge to Mario and and the hull to Newark - but I give him this whole, beautiful ship... a destroyer, isn't it? ...a virus destroyer, yes, and this is the thanks I get."

"I'm not putting a price tag on your mother, Mario. In fact, I love Mario's mother; never met the woman but I'm sure she's lovely and if I we did meet, we have a nice Italian dinner with maybe some penne al fredo or something. And boy! would she love me, too, I can tell you that."

"But we all have an expiration date, Mario. Do we leave the fresh gallon of milk - chocolate, I like chocolate milk as a refreshment but 2% on cereal - on the counter to spoil because there's a cup left in the refrigerated container, or do we take care of the fresh milk?"

"The needs of the gallon outweigh the needs of the cup. We have to use the milk, Mario"

Uhm, because saying "I hope we can open by Easter" is hella' different than saying "We will remove all restriction and open the country on Easter".
Good grief, man.

Most of the time I give the benefit of the doubt and just chalk things up to ignorance.

I "hope" that is the case here.
