Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I know I will catch grief for this but imma gonna do it anyway.

This is what private charities, churches, families, community groups are for. They can distribute aid to those in need more efficiently and more effectively than Uncle Sam can. Also, if tens of thousands need help, give it to them if we must. But keep it confined to those who really need; not $1000 to everyone who passes the means testing.

Lastly, we used to be taught to save for a rainy day. We don't do that anymore. We live up to and beyond our means. We carry credit cards for emergencies but we max them out and carry balances. We need to feel the consequences of our decisions. We need to alter how we choose to live. We need to stop looking for the government to answer every crisis because they create more than they ever solve. We are 23T in the freakin red because everybody wants more and simply expects politicians to give it to them.

At some point, all these chickens will come home to roost.

End rant.
Preach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree on everything you said. I'm a proponent on Volunteerism. I believe the gov't bloats, wastes money and hordes power. I believe our culture and economy is built on debt, which creates slaves.
I appreciate it. It sucks to be this way in the midst of a panic. Nobody wants to hear. And honestly...I don't blame them one bit.

I think there will be a stimulus package for everyone. I don't think it will be giving tax money back to taxpayers, it will be on top of that. And I guess it makes since to go back to last year, since so many still haven't filed a return this year.
I'm still waiting to see what it will be before weighing in on it. If it's giving taxpayers some of their money back, I may be in favor of it. If it;'s giving $1,000 to everyone, I'm not. Even of they're giving taxpayers some of their money back, even then I'm not in favor unless they give a detailed plan to cut spending as opposed to just increasing gov't debt.

However, can you link a quote where Trump is saying he wants to give every American $1000, as your meme claimed?

Give total numbers per decade and the answer will be YES. Do you have a better chance to die from a car wreck or the coronavirus

Italy has had car wrecks and flu as long as we have.

Yet today their entire medical system is on the verge of collapse due to coronavirus.

Your talking points don't hold up to reality.

There is no quote of Trump saying that. Per Mnuchin of the Trump administration:
Some lawmakers, including Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), have discussed direct cash payments of $1,000 to Americans, something Romney discussed with Mnuchin on Monday night.
“That’s one of the ideas we like,” Mnuchin said Tuesday, without endorsing a specific dollar amount. He suggested there should be an income cutoff on the cash payments and that high-income households might not be eligible.

It is all still in flux, so no telling what it might look like.

Without getting into auto deaths vs. Covid-19 deaths, Italy has the oldest population in Europe which heavily weights their situation.

I'm not trying to be an ass. Maybe it just comes naturally. And I'm not trying to defend Trump. I guess for me, it's more a defense of us Conservatives that are painted by your meme. Giving Americans $1000 != giving all Americans $1000.

From things like this:

Earlier Tuesday, Trump said, “I think we’re going to do something that gets money to them as quickly as possible.” The president said he still favored a payroll tax holiday but indicated he was willing to defer to his advisers and a growing number of lawmakers who are getting behind direct payments.

I would be surprised if the plan gave all Americans $1000. Since Trump wanted to let taxpayers keep their money, I could see him sending checks to taxpayers as a way of giving them more of their money back.

But in the end, I think it's unfair for you to claim that Conservatives are supporting "Trump giving every taxpayer $1000" while following that criticism up with the admission that you don't even know what Trump's plan actually is.

Just got off the phone with a guy who consults with hospitals across the country. We’re really on the edge in some places as far as ICU beds.

I wonder if we're going to see -- if it's not already happening -- people who have it in NYC or DC driving to rural areas where it hasn't hit hard yet so they can get an ICU room ... and then causing spreads in those areas.

Exactly what I was talking to him about. His family lives in Merced, CA and they’re getting that happening in hospitals there and Stockton from Bay Area residents.

A terrible overreaction by the current administration in my opinion.

If this goes through I will not cash in the check. I will send it back to Washington.

It is a meme that I thought showed how quickly Red Hats will abandon their principles if Trump proposes something. That is all.

I think there will be a payroll tax break, as well as direct cash stimulus. Just my opinion, but I think it will be a pretty big stimulus package when they work the details out.

They also have a lot of interaction between generations. A perfect combination for infectious diseases.

...which is an overreaction IMO. Take the opportunity to self direct funds from the US Treasury to a church, charity or another person.
