So...any of you guys figured out how we get a haircut in the era of social distancing? Anyone have a flowbee that can be disinfected and shared
I went and got a haircut at our local SportClips today after I left my dr's office. They are normally fairly busy but I walked right in, signed in and was immediately in the barber chair. By the way, I live in a large, heavily populated mid tn county and we still have zero reported cases. Knock on wood.

Germany has already vaccinated their first patient and there are plenty of universities working on their own vaccines. It will be fast tracked once someone shows marked improvement from a vaccine.
I thought vaccines were preventative. I don't think you can improve. If someone avoids it because of a vaccine, we won't know, because many won't catch it at all.

I’m not defending stealing anything. You should never steal. However, most of the hate against cam comes with a lot of racial undertones imo and they constantly bring up the lone black mark on him, something from when he was 18 despite the fact that he’s been the beacon of a romodel for the Carolina community. Not to mention the whole laptop investigation was fishy to begin with. The laptops serial # in cams dorm didn’t match the original Serial on the police report
OMG...this is ridiculous...now you are upping it by playing the f'n race card...come on man 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Please let this work...it will be a near miracle to get that done this quickly.
If it works...surely to goodness the combined resources of the civilized world can get it done.

If church folk insist on radical demonstrations of their faith, which I am all in favor of, I'd prefer it not come at the cost of possibly infecting people with a potentially deadly virus. Let's start with grace, love and kindness and work out from there.

Are church folk pushing this? I’ll admit, outside of the handful of churches I’m connected with, I’m not aware of what churches are doing/saying, but of the handful of churches I’m connected with, they’re all embracing the social distancing - online services, no small groups, etc. Are there a lot of churches thumbing their noses at the concern?

Not sure if we have many folks from other beliefs on the board, but I’d be curious what is happening at missions, Temples, mosques, etc.

How does everyone feel about these talks of giving every adult $1,000 if they make under 75k? Talks of bumping up to 2,000 and including children. Possible $1500 payout in the summer and another $1000 in the fall.

If this happens it should be a loan recaptured in 2020 and or 2021 tax return.

Driving down the road, there was a conversion van with the little round window near the back and seriously 70's looking curtains blocking the rear windows. There was a small rear window sticker that read "Boobies".

Naturally, I assume this is a human trafficking van and there will be some 48 year old with a scruffy beard, hair that hadn't been washed in 3 weeks, PBR tattoo and a cigarette hanging off of his lip.

Turns out it was a blonde woman and I have no idea what to do with that, lol

Good thought. Probably a breast cancer survivor.

I’m playing catch up. And hit a seam of @nicksjuzunk Sorry for the multiple replies to nick. Fan of that dude.

1) how would you lose your job?
2) been nice knowing you fam
1) Initial email started off with a couple WTFs. Revised several times and ended up reading like “while I appreciate the strain this has placed in the call center, I for one would appreciate a more thorough process.”

2) he gone

I don't know of any here outside of the normal Holiness/Snake Handler fringe independent types. Our organization has directed us to comply with the CDC wishes for the next several weeks, and I agree that it is good judgement.

How in the heck in America do you allow the Constitution to be voided for two months. They have taken your right to assemble away. What’s next. 911 we declared a national emergency after losing over 3100 Americans in ONE day. It was removed in one week. Our President George Bush said it is a very dangerous road to suspend the Constitution for a long time and that’s why he was lifting it. Because we were still not safe but you can not give up freedom just to be safe. The founders risked everything for freedom including their lives but we give ours up so easily.

I've hesitated to wade in on this, and will do so only on the hopes that it might genuinely persuade some and possibly save lives. I imagine it will ruffle feathers, and some will lose respect for me but I'll go ahead because if I am out to just placate the crowd, I'm of no use.

In regard to the response of the Christian, or "church goer" continuing to attend public worship services, (church is a people, not a building)...

He (Jesus) answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” - Luke 10:27

I propose to you that when my "loving of God" is at odds with "loving my neighbor" there is a breakdown between understanding and application because the two should always be inextricably joined at the hip. We are all free to express our faith in this country so long as it does not infringe upon the freedoms of others. In my opinion, the attendance of public worship services at this time is not "loving your neighbor" as this will clearly increase the risk of spreading the virus. If you are looking for any type of scriptural reference regarding outbreaks, the Old Testament gives clear instructions to practice "social distancing" to stop the outbreak. There are no edifications to just drum up some more faith and carry on.

I am a man of faith and reason. If the practicing of my "great faith" puts my neighbor at risk, am I that much different than the religious extremist terrorist who is only concerned with how he is expressing his faith and does not consider how it will affect those whose lives he will destroy as he cries out "God is great!"? This is a strong statement that will offend many, but I urge you to consider it before you dismiss it.

Fortunately, the Corvid-19 virus has literally 0 affect on how I love God. My Sunday morning attendance denies me the fellowship of my brothers and sisters, but we will come together again soon enough. God doesn't live at your church or my church. You may feel an emotional tie to attending that collection of bricks, carpet and seating but God transcends all of that. As for my worship of God, I carry it with me wherever I am. As for loving others, for most of us, the best way we can do that is to physically be out of their presence. Give a call, video chat, pray over the phone, safely bring food to those who cannot get out... there are a lot of ways to love others, but in this season, it must be with caution, not stubbornness masked as faith.

Those are my thoughts in a quick sitting. Once again, my intent is not to condemn or inflame, but it's my current rambling thought on the matter.

If you hate what I've said, please save the reply and just write to me all of your hateful words at UlyseesE.McGill@gmail.com I'll be reading them all.

We need to concentrate on being the Church not just going to Church.

I'm with you on your post. The fact is, we do not know anything about this virus. Church leaders do not know anything about this virus. All we can do is listen to those who do know something about this virus, and that is our governing authorities. We should follow their guidelines so that we can help protect one another. The OT quarantine example you used is a great one. God is sovereign, but He uses ordinary means to accomplish His purposes.

This is Martin Luther's response in facing the Bubonic plauge. This is the Reformer not "King"
“I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me He will surely find me and I have done what He has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me however I shall not avoid place or person I shall go freely as stated above. See this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.”
Luther’s Works; Vol. 43, pg. 132

We constantly here about forced closures and staying home to help curb this virus. I wonder when someone is gonna say "We are suspending bill payments until the virus is under control". Something tells me this will never happen :):):)
Our local utility company done this for 90 days! And they said they arent cutting utilities off during that time either
