Correct. The vaccine is going to take longer than many people realize. It's not a one-and-done type of thing. And there is absolutely no way the government can place everyone in quarantine for 1 year. The utter chaos that would ensue would be astronomical. Especially since people need food, water, money for said neccessities, etc. I highly doubt it's going to get to that level. However, our Health sector is going to need help because even that area of our infrastructure has a limit. By placing a moderate level quarantine we are able to still obtain the necessities that we will need, help slow the spread of the virus (if people listen to the CDC), and help our healthcare providers and keep the healthcare system away from insane limits.
Germany has already vaccinated their first patient and there are plenty of universities working on their own vaccines. It will be fast tracked once someone shows marked improvement from a vaccine.

Is China still sitting at 80,000 confirmed cases? If so, they have been at that number for quite a while. There are 1.3 billion people living there. That is an infection rate of 0.00008. If all of these numbers are true and their case numbers haven’t increased in a while, why so much hysteria?
You believe China is telling the truth?

We constantly here about forced closures and staying home to help curb this virus. I wonder when someone is gonna say "We are suspending bill payments until the virus is under control". Something tells me this will never happen :):):)

A quick search revealed that some places are suspending eviction orders, due to potential loss of income.

You trust their numbers? Its China...

Driving down the road, there was a conversion van with the little round window near the back and seriously 70's looking curtains blocking the rear windows. There was a small rear window sticker that read "Boobies".

Naturally, I assume this is a human trafficking van and there will be some 48 year old with a scruffy beard, hair that hadn't been washed in 3 weeks, PBR tattoo and a cigarette hanging off of his lip.

Turns out it was a blonde woman and I have no idea what to do with that, lol

My wife was behind this guy today

We’re going to be 6-0 going into the Bama game.

If we get that LB from NDSU or whatever, then I think we will definitely be 6-0. Him and Toot would be like having Bituli an extra year.

Solomon, Gooden, Middleton
Bennett, Toot, Cox, Crouch
Thompson, Taylor, McCoullough, Lawrence
NFL defense

Probably exactly what I am going to do if I get it soon enough from probate. I am probably going to have to live on my part of the life insurance disbursement though thanks to this stupid virus crap.

Mom is down to hours at this point according to hospice. She is not lucid anymore and is almost completely unresponsive, and one of our families long time best friends in Florida just passed a couple of hours ago...can't even go to the funeral...thus far this year is already #1 with a bullet of worst years of my life...I am just praying my 75 sickly father, and my father in law that almost died 4 weeks ago from Pneumonia don't get this crap...I honestly don't see how they won't eventually at this point.
So sorry, Brother. I wish only the best for all of you. Praying for you and your family. Peace.

My patients are supposed to go through extensive triage process over the phone prior to being allowed in our office. Today call center allowed someone through with complaint of “cough”. I walked in the exam room and this person coughs right in my face. Doesn’t try to cover. Never even apologized. Started right into their story.

I mean who does this?
I went for my diabetes check up today. Dr. is in a 2 story building with some other dr. offices etc. There was a table set up in the lobby with a medical person checking every person. If you had a cough, fever, etc over the past 72 hrs you were sent right back home. If you got on the elevator, there were signs posted in there as well telling people that they would not be allowed in the dr offices with those symptoms.

My general rule. If it can survive gamma radiation, outer space, solar wind, the artic, volcanic gases and cruise for a decade without food or water, I don't **** with it.
Cute little things tho.
those things can survive gamma rays? no way!

If the practicing of my "great faith" puts my neighbor at risk, am I that much different than the religious extremist terrorist who is only concerned with how he is expressing his faith and does not consider how it will affect those whose lives he will destroy as he cries out "God is great!"?

No problem with your post outside of this line. False equivalence and huge stretch equating someone who goes to a church service with a religious extremist terrorist. Maybe I’m reading it wrong. But I don’t think I am.

Staying close with folks by text, phone, FaceTime, etc. Very thankful we have that ability. But don’t think those who are going to services are comparable to terrorists. Again. Maybe I misread.

Hard to believe they exist.

Research has found that tardigrades can withstand environments as cold as minus 328 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 200 Celsius) or highs of more than 300 degrees F (148.9 C), according to Smithsonian magazine. They can also survive radiation, boiling liquids, massive amounts of pressure of up to six times the pressure of the deepest part of the ocean and even the vacuum of space without any protection.

I've hesitated to wade in on this, and will do so only on the hopes that it might genuinely persuade some and possibly save lives. I imagine it will ruffle feathers, and some will lose respect for me but I'll go ahead because if I am out to just placate the crowd, I'm of no use.

In regard to the response of the Christian, or "church goer" continuing to attend public worship services, (church is a people, not a building)...

He (Jesus) answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” - Luke 10:27

I propose to you that when my "loving of God" is at odds with "loving my neighbor" there is a breakdown between understanding and application because the two should always be inextricably joined at the hip. We are all free to express our faith in this country so long as it does not infringe upon the freedoms of others. In my opinion, the attendance of public worship services at this time is not "loving your neighbor" as this will clearly increase the risk of spreading the virus. If you are looking for any type of scriptural reference regarding outbreaks, the Old Testament gives clear instructions to practice "social distancing" to stop the outbreak. There are no edifications to just drum up some more faith and carry on.

I am a man of faith and reason. If the practicing of my "great faith" puts my neighbor at risk, am I that much different than the religious extremist terrorist who is only concerned with how he is expressing his faith and does not consider how it will affect those whose lives he will destroy as he cries out "God is great!"? This is a strong statement that will offend many, but I urge you to consider it before you dismiss it.

Fortunately, the Corvid-19 virus has literally 0 affect on how I love God. My Sunday morning attendance denies me the fellowship of my brothers and sisters, but we will come together again soon enough. God doesn't live at your church or my church. You may feel an emotional tie to attending that collection of bricks, carpet and seating but God transcends all of that. As for my worship of God, I carry it with me wherever I am. As for loving others, for most of us, the best way we can do that is to physically be out of their presence. Give a call, video chat, pray over the phone, safely bring food to those who cannot get out... there are a lot of ways to love others, but in this season, it must be with caution, not stubbornness masked as faith.

Those are my thoughts in a quick sitting. Once again, my intent is not to condemn or inflame, but it's my current rambling thought on the matter.
