My thinking is two weeks ok. We should know more but we are one step away from Marshall Law. Never want to go there. Anything beyond two weeks unless we see without question no other way and not someone just telling us that, is too long. They will know.
That is how I feel also...I have no problem with it up til 3-4 weeks..but beyond that? No freaking way..we can't destroy everything just to slow this down.

So weird because literally nothing in my life has changed.

I've freely admitted to being a recluse. My kids are on spring break. My wife is still working and I don't watch any sports other than CFB. If it weren't for reading, I wouldn't even know anything was happening.

I want to apologize for not realizing it was having a real impact on people's income, especially those that can't afford for that to happen.
Truly hope things straighten out for you guys as quickly as possible.

Man we have to give our healthcare workers a chance. The fact remains we just don’t know what the true mortality rate for this thing is. I’m more conservative than most. I believe it is much lower than believed based on the lack of testing. But that’s just a guess too. We are a few days away from knowing more about this thing. Mass testing this week will show us. Until then we should absolutely be cautious. I really want to look back at this in a few months and say we overreacted. I don’t want to look back and say man we could have done so much more. Again I hope we know more with mass testing.
Say it again for the people in the back!

I'm personal freedom and liberties to the core. But there comes a time that you have to take one for the team. Do you think the 10 million drafted for WW2 all wanted to do it? Hell no! It violated their personal freedom. But it was deemed necessary. I just can't wrap my head around how people don't get this.

YOU CAN MAKE OTHER PEOPLE SICK BEFORE YOU KNOW YOU'RE INFECTED!!!!

PEOPLE WITH NO SYMPTOMS CAN MAKE YOU SICK BEFORE THEY KNOW THEY ARE INFECTED!!!

YOU CAN UNKNOWINGLY PASS IT ALONG TO SOMEONE WHO IS NOT HEALTHY ENOUGH TO SURVIVE IT!!!

This is kind of how I am. My income will be effected by the end of the month, and my job responsibilities have changed a bit. But my kids are home for spring break, and I went to work and came home. Just like I normally do.

Other than not being able to follow spring sports, not a whole lot has changed so far. With 4 kids, I guess that’s how it is. I have played more video games with them. Lol.

Haven't seen anything on potential longterm effects obviously but it's crossed my mind.

We're working off of the assumption that it's like the flu and once it's gone, it's gone. And there's no reason to believe otherwise.
Just hoping there's not something we're missing. Unlikely, it's just that 'unknown' factor.

There will be no effective and readily available vaccine for 6 months to a year..as a human being you have to understand that asking people to just stop living for that long..to "flatten that curve"..is impossible without draconian measures? ..right?

Which I am totally against.

Correct. The vaccine is going to take longer than many people realize. It's not a one-and-done type of thing. And there is absolutely no way the government can place everyone in quarantine for 1 year. The utter chaos that would ensue would be astronomical. Especially since people need food, water, money for said neccessities, etc. I highly doubt it's going to get to that level. However, our Health sector is going to need help because even that area of our infrastructure has a limit. By placing a moderate level quarantine we are able to still obtain the necessities that we will need, help slow the spread of the virus (if people listen to the CDC), and help our healthcare providers and keep the healthcare system away from insane limits.

Hate the income part but congrats on the gaming time!

For me, feels a little weird realizing how cut off from society I truly am, lol. My wildlife and science shows are still on, my workshop and the woods on my property are still my hangouts. Everything is identical.

I had just laughed a little scrolling thru the "no golf!!!" posts. Then I saw McGill's income post and it hit me.😔

@nicksjuzunk

Nick, they took away my workout room. I don't know what to do.

Layoffs at my job are starting today. A lot of good people with kids are about to get that call

That sucks.

We haven't recovered enough to withstand something like that and my wife switched jobs a month ago. She was doing contract work previously so there would be no form of unemployment.

But the thought of her being around sick people all day, in sevierville no less, drives me crazy.
