Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I got my flu shot the Monday before Thanksgiving. By Thanksgiving Thursday I had the full blown flu.
I just don't trust the flu shots. My wife also had a very bad reaction to one. She had intense burning sensations in her lower legs and feet for a few months after her last flu shot two years ago. Im not an anti vaxer or anything, just don't trust the flu shots.

lmao I'm an immunosuppressed liver transplant patient with a history of kidney and heart problems, diabetes, and, oh yeah, my mobility is limited because I broke my damn back when I fell while recovering from my transplant. I'm one of those high risk "danger zone" people you're talking about. And if I catch this disease, my outlook is bleak, but I'm not going to be looking to place blame. **** happens in life.

Wow, Weezer. Good luck - that's a lot going on. Don't let 'em get you down.

The non medical crowd Facebook experts have a lot of talk but little knowledge. You are correct

The non medical Twitter expert also seems to have a lot of talk with little knowledge on the topic of vaccines.

Q Mr. President, do you — do you accept that this will take longer probably than you would like?
THE PRESIDENT: I don’t know what the time will be. I don’t think they know what the time will be. I’ve heard very quick numbers — a matter of months — and I’ve heard pretty much a year would be an outside number. So I think that’s not a bad — that’s not a bad range. But if you’re talking about three to four months, in a couple of cases, and a year in other cases — wouldn’t you say, Doctor, would that be about right?
Q Is it realistic to think, really, that a vaccine could be ready in three or four months?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, you have the greatest companies in the world sitting around the table. I mean, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer and all of the companies — Gilead — you have all of these great companies and that’s what they’re saying. So I think that —
DR. FAUCI: Would you — would you make sure you get the President the information that a vaccine that you make and start testing in a year is not a vaccine that’s deployable. So he’s asking the question, “When is it going to be deployable?” And that is going to be, at the earliest, a year to a year and a half, no matter how fast you go.
THE PRESIDENT: Do you think that’s right?
SECRETARY AZAR: And as you said, Mr. President, treatment has got to be available before the vaccines, so that’s where you —
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think treatment, in many ways, might be more exciting.

Hasn't this been debunked or is this a new group study or finding?

I think it was brought up before and went away, but I don't know how you would prove it wrong. There's as much chance of a real investigation into Chinese biological weapon "research" as a real investigation of Iran's nuclear program. The only time you are likely to find proof of evil in a totalitarian regime is after it's fallen or clearly used a weapon. That doesn't mean the Chinese intentionally released it ... this time.

That may be true, but China has simply moved from one brand of totalitarianism to another ... emperors to warlords to Mao to a communist-lite waging economic war on the rest of the world. How don't you blame the people? They supported Mao over Nationalists; when they actually had a slim chance at change, they fell for communism.
To err is human.

maybe the clown media will back off this constant 1 or 2 new cases crap now that their some of their prize Democrat primaries are getting postponed

I don't think I've seen you post this since the green line fell below the orange line. The uptick in the green and the right turn of the orange is encouraging. Let's hope that develops into a trend rather than an anomaly.

I'd expect the numbers to grow quickly as testing increases. The thing with that though is your not testing and seeing the virus get stronger at the same time. We're really increasing testing after the virus has been in the population for 3 months. So naturally I'd expect the numbers to climb. The sick people are likely already out there. The numbers have just been hiding in pnuemonia/flu counts.

I imagine the time has come and gone weeks ago for the coronavirus to have a mild viral impact on our population. Probably things like social distancing outside of the house, making sure you don't go to work sick, avoiding unnecessary interactions, small things like that needed to start back in late Jan/early Feb.

But what was the only thing on the news cycle till mid Feb probably? The presidential impeachment.

The US never had a chance in reality. There's no way the MSM would break away from that to cover a virus in China. The Trump team felt confident in the outcome of impeachment and there's no way they would break away from that to take action to slow the virus' spread either. They wanted impeachment in the news as much as the MSM. Not that Trump took this seriously to begin with.

No, I'm guessing any actions we take now, individually or federally, will make small differences instead of the large differences they could have made 2 months ago. Maybe our best hope is an early start of warm spring temps?

Not for sure. At the time I thought it was just something I got from our granddaughter, 2 year olds are disease factories. But our son works for a Chinese owned company and they have people going back and forth all the time and him and his wife were sick right before we got it. Nowhere near as bad but still sick so maybe he got it from one of his Chinese coworkers?
The connection where your son works would make sense.

Compounded by the denial of the virus existing by the Chinese government, who's main concern was making sure the whole world would take the hit economically instead of China alone. That was the only time it could have realistically been stopped.
