All those Tumpsters in New York, Washington, and San Francisco didn’t take it seriously and now look at them. Thankfully the residents of West Virginia are dedicated CNN viewers and have so far been spared by this “not made in China that would be racist” virus

I am struggling with something my company is doing. I am in the restaurant business. We are excluding anyone who has fever, cough, shortness of breath. If they are being tested for COVID-19, confirmed, or if they are in close contact with anyone who fits that description. They can’t return to work without a medical release saying they are safe to work around food. My concern is that are we just overloading health care providers with people showing up? Thoughts?

Sure, most people understand the seriousness. But, when people are told "It's all under control" when they can see with their own two eyes that it plainly isn't, they tend to overreact. After all, why would their trusted, elected leader straight up lie to 'em unless he was trying to keep people from panicking?

It's a lack of leadership......

We have more than 600 leaders, many of which over the last 6 months found their selves in front of A microphone.so who’s been in front of one telling us something different that we should be listening to?

It's a bad sound bite, but how is a virus Trump's fault? If a Dem were in office, would you hold them responsible for the spread of a virus? People keep politicizing this. Yes, it could have been handled better, but some things you can't place blame for. **** happens.

This isn't "bad optics".... This is lack of leadership. Trump's primary mission in life has been to simply "undo" anything that a Democrat before him had done.

Unfortunately, this calls for some kind of real leadership and he simply doesn't have it in him. You'll point to the change of heart that has led to more emergency measures..... I'll point to the fact that he should have listened in the first ******* place. There's a reason why "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is a truism.

You've never been in a position where you voluntarily took responsibility (the blame) in front of your boss (in this case the citizenry) for something someone under you had done? Y'know.... a "the captain is responsible for the actions of his crew" kinda thing?

People in groups tend to overreact no matter what they are told . Herd mentality. All it takes is one bleating sheep to send the whole heard over the cliff and we have 24/7 endless news cycles searching for the next sensational story .

You know what helps to prevent that?

Leadership.

I made a weekly grocery run a couple days ago and the TP/paper towels/disinfecting wipes were gone. Other than that most everything else was normal. My sister made a grocery run to the same place I went the next day and said they were almost out of meat.

I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. Maybe once everyone sees the world isn't ending they'll chill out.

Doubtful. We are full of idiots.
