Coronavirus (No politics)

NC Governor just closed all K-12 schools for the next two weeks. Some schools just had spring break this week.

Yesterday Mecklenburg County (Charlotte NC area) announced school would go on for a half week this coming week and then the following week would be Spring Break, moved up from April. People were pissed. They should love the governor now.

Jackson County, where I live, they had spring break this past week, so they’re getting three weeks off, but it seems that plans are being developed for home studies and assignments.

School has been canceled on Fort Campbell. They are moving to distance learning (even my 2nd grader).

Went to Ingles to pick up stuff for lunch next week. Shelf stable foodstuffs were almost picked clean.

Went to our local store in a Memphis suburb. No fruit, no meat, no rice, no frozen foods.

Interesting times.

There using the time to restock the store without interruptions from the customers and to do extra cleaning according to the report.
I think a lot of places are managing the circumstances the best they can all things considered.

Oh I understand why they're doing it. The places I frequent are doing a good job managing things, under the circumstances. It's just crazy that they have to. I share wanting to be prepared. Lord know we restocked our pantry. I just never thought I'd see this kind of thing in the U.S.

I get that, but this has been something else. I'm honestly baffled at the, well to put it nicely, "stupidity."
People are nuts. Heck I'm not immune to it. While I know, intellectually, that all this will blow over, but part of me wants to go hold up on a mountain somewhere. Hopefully all this starts to settle down in a couple of weeks.

I teach in Georgia and my county is closed starting Monday through April 6th
Talked to a teacher here today in my part of Georgia. We're shut down for 2 weeks, but they're expecting longer, possibly the rest of the year. They're working on a virtual graduation.

Aldi in Oolt was out of almost everything (canned goods, produce, meat) yesterday afternoon. Food City on 58 @ Greenwood was a little better about 6:30. Went by again this evening and it was way better.

It’s like Luther predicted 10’ of snow!
