Tennessee Football Spring Preview: Quarterbacks

You’ve done nothing but trash the kid since last fall. Come on man, a little honesty here would be great. Pot/kettle analogy was good enough, and “hit the nail on the head” (sorry, not creative, I know).
“Nothing but trash the kid” is either wrong interpretation, lazy representation or flat out LIE on your part. Nail that in your head. I posted during the season and posited that he advanced the ball and plain THREW it better. That regressed imo as the season wore on. Maybe from injury, 1Vol8’s alleged rust or whatever. Fact as I see it is that his experience lead is minimal in this race and negligible in the possibility of him overtaking JG. I don’t have a narrative on this one but truth has been optional for you...since last fall.

Saw a lot of fizzle on the feed I had.
Find it on YouTube. His first and second drive sucked. His third and fourth (if you count the Hail Mary situation at the end of the half) were great.

He fought through the injury because he had a coach that allowed him to do so! Not saying JP was wrong because a head injury is a different ball game than a hand but no less untrue. I never said anything of the sort about the medical crew. I said only once was he pulled by THEM rather than JP. And yes there was an int or two that were his fault. The 1st vs MSU was a terrible decision. He had MC wide open underneath. His second, no I can’t blame him when he literally fell on the following play after bouncing off his head. That alone should’ve been the indicator that he needed evaluated. But they left him in and called a pass play. Sorry but that’s on them.
We watch it on TV and notice a millisecond that a HC can easily miss...running the team. I credit that to the kid’s competitiveness...and bulletproof mentality.

Great’s subjective...and frequently overused. It was better than what he had been throwing out there. Wasn’t as good as JG’s surge out the chute.

It was a handoff....... no way you could miss him falling for no apparent reason after the shot he just took to the head.

I beg to differ on that one. JG played well in that game so it’s hard to compare “could’ve beens” but I’ve seen a lot of claims that he WOULDNT have won that game himself. That is bs.

Sure you can. When you’re talking to your coaches (instead of listening to the broadcast) and getting units on and off the field. Game’s faster than it looks. Thought you did something like this for a living?

Has nothing to do with the speed of the game. Go back and watch it man! It was a handoff so therefore he’s literally in the same frame as the ball is being handed off. He’s falling as he’s handing it to Chandler I believe it was.

We were down 10 with no TD’s scored. JG entered and two TD’s got scored in short order. Defense won the rest of the game but there would have been no win without said TD’s. Didn’t like the move when it happened but I don’t argue with results.

You can argue angle may have got the best of the staff in that moment but Chaney is in the booth. He has an aerial view. No way they should’ve missed it

So they should have yanked him BEFORE that? He landed on his head. Could have been shaken up without a concussion. If Pruitt had left him in the game for the duration I’d see your point but I don’t have the benefit of looking for conspiracies.

That’s the point. I agree you can’t argue with the result. But we were down 13 actually because the defense couldn’t get off the field on their first drive. They ate up over 10 minutes of the game with that one drive and scored. BMs first drive sucked (but JJ did drop a 1st down dime) and they blocked our punt then scored again just two plays later(Missed the EP. )

No! I’m saying after he fell for no apparent reason on the very next play, which was a hand off, they should’ve pulled him then. Not right after he bounced off his head because of how he got up talking chit to the defense you would think he was ok.

It was open to interpretation. You say no way but you’ve practically adopted the boy. Chaney’s seen countless numbers wobble after a shot and still finish the game. I’m sure they bought a set of kid gloves for him in future dealings.

Had the whole half and couldn’t push in a touchdown. JG got two in the third quarter. Results>excuses.

See. Here I thought we were having an adult debate and you come back with that crap. Simply put.... I’ve DONE the evaluations the services are supposed to do. I can assure you if there were a realignment of the top 20 qbs in every class the rankings would look WORLDS different. You speak as if I won’t admit his limitations simply because I see him as the best qb in that room and it’s not true.

Should’ve shut him down for the rest of the season. Neither I nor anyone else wanted that. Retrospect thing that coaches don’t get any slack from. Didn’t keep him in the game after it was confirmed that he was injured...they’ll have to live with their status as humans.

Are you quoting the right post? Doesn’t seem like it.

I’m quoting this one. I enjoy talking to you when you’re simply talking football but once you start taking subtle shots at the kid it’s frustrating and uncalled for.

It’s a shot at you and your tunnel vision. You have an agenda for one player and don’t admit it. Save it and savor it. It’s there for your frustration.

He had the ball! Bm didnt! That’s like blaming him for his hs defense as you’ve been known to do in one way or another.
You said he ONLY had 3 opportunities. Did those come without a ball? Don’t remember taking any particular shots at his high school team’s defense. You’ve inferred that the whole schmebang (ceptin him) sucked and that his stats mean more thusly. Had no reason to dispute your account.
