Georgia would switch ...

Not at all. Coley won’t coach either of them since he’s no longer at UGA. As long as Monken gets more than 2860 all purpose yards and 24 touchdowns out of Newman then he’ll have done a better job than Coley with the QB. If Vandagriff stays committed I doubt Beck ever plays at UGA.
I will be shocked if he gets close to that. The SEC plays defense and USU, Rice, Elon, are not on the schedule for UGA.

And Newman will have much better weapons at UGA than he had at wake. It cuts both ways. Wake was the least talented team in the ACC and he still put up numbers. Fromm didn’t play well at all and the offense didn’t have him throwing much. Newman will easily pass his all purpose yards because he’ll have more attempts through the air and on the ground.

They are counting on guys that haven't even signed with them yet to start. They were not 3 deep. They had a starting 5 and 2 guys that they could plug in. 4 of those starters are ineligible. 3 went pro and one tried taking a real class and failed. 1 of the 2 they rotated in transferred. 1 that was redshirted in involved as the suspect in a federal bullying case. They will likely have multiple guys starting that have never taken a college snap on day 1.

Florida has the huge schedule advantage and the talent to win the east next year.

Florida lost their Rb , OL and WR's plus a ton on D. They may win 10-11 but they ain't beating the only real competition on their schedule........................... Kirby and us.

10-11 wins will win the east this year. UF gets the better draw from the west, have a mental block on the Vols I will need to see to believe, and UGA replaces everything on O almost from scratch with too many new pieces to give them the nod.

Will he? The WRs that were bemoaned all year, underperformed on a grand scale, and that's the most experienced group coming in. The rest has great potential but little to no experience and none in this O, none of the staff have worked together, its unreasonable to expect much success in this kind of rebuilding year.

Butch Jones beat you twice lmao ❤️
Yes in fact he did. Those were some dark times for our program 🤦‍♂️ but let's not forget Vandy beat us the last season Tenn beat us 🙄 I'm glad both programs are starting to recover from the dark ages and hopefully will get this rivalry back to being one of the top games every season.

The WR issues last year were due to injury and attrition. At one point UGA was starting their 4th and 5th string WR's. Cager was solid, but always hurt. Pickens and Blaylock were true freshman. Then Robertson and Jackson were serviceable, but also always hurt. In the first half of the SECC None of them played, except for Blaylock for a few series. Next year UGA will return Pickens, Blaylock, Jackson, and Robertson, while also getting 3 top 10 WR's from their recruiting class. The WR's should benefit from a QB who can throw a deep ball and a better OC.

Blaylock is recovering from a knee right? I hope you dont expect much production from him this year.

Pickens is a prime candidate to be one of the 5-7 of UGAs annual offseason arrests.

More freshman? Most programs with 4 straight top 10 recruiting classes would be loaded with Srs and Jrs and looking at making a national championship run or 2. Not UGA. They will play mostly freshman redshirt freshman and Sophomore and redshirt sophomore guys. Nope they will be young, with youthful mistakes and limitations. Somewhere between 8-10 wins max, 2nd or 3rd in the east, no playoffs, no championships. It's the UGA way.

Pickens, Blaylock, Robertson, and Jackson are all not freshman. I agree Blaylock is a question, but that’s still 3 players with experience. Also, WR is one of the easier positions to have an impact as a frosh. It’s hilarious to me how many unsubstantiated rumors ppl make about Pickens. Sad that ppl want a young man’s life ruined because he didn’t pick their school.

1 starter that everyone acknowledges. It the other that are still questions. Time will tell if he can hold it together long enough to play 3 seasons.

Robertson is looking at his 4th OC in 4 years and 2nd year on the field for UGA. I think it's safe to tag him as a bust as a bust.

While Jackson would have been the leading returner last year with 5 catches and 79 whole yards I would question including him as a top 3 WR. I had to luck it up. That sucks. Dude I apologize, I didn't realize it was that bad. Pickens will have an escort on him 247 because if he commits a big enough stupid yall will return less than 500 yards of recieving product

Yes me too. I hope we both make UF irrelevant.

Except Blaylock and Robertson are starters as well with more production than Jackson. Jackson is the backup who couldn’t stay healthy. I told you it was bad last year and wasn’t lying. UGA’s WR will have more talent this year, but that’s not saying much given UGA’s WR room last year. That’s honestly been the main point. UGA’s offense was so bad last year it’ll be difficult for it not to improve.

Blaylock is coming off knee surgery and will not be 100% this year and likely will need half a season or more to get there. Want to pencil him in for 250 yards?

UGA needs to replace 2,000 yards of production and it's not coming from Blaylock or Robertson or Jackson. I doubt you see 500 yards between the 3 due to Blaylocks injury. So a guy rehabbing, a 5* bust, a guy with 5 catches, and pickens is your WR room? Looks like it will be very freshman dependent again.

Out of curiosity since the OC isnt allowed to coach til spring and the QB doesn't now the O and the freshman WRs and Oline are not coming til summer what is Newman going to do this spring? Bond with guys that are not likely to be starters?

There most likely won’t be any frosh on the o-line. Robertson had around 800 yards his frosh year in a different offense, so it’s possible he puts it up again in a similar offense. Jackson was hurt so is an unknown and I have no clue how Blaylock rehabs. Everyone comes back different, so I’m not gonna put a number on it. Pickens, Robertson, Blaylock, and Jackson are still better than what UGA had returning next year. Monken can talk to Newman all he wants. Though I’m sure you’re not implying the two won’t see each other til spring. Pickens, Robertson, and Jackson most likely start vs Virginia unless one of Rosemy, Burton, or Smith take out Jackson. So the starters are there.

Personally, I dont view Tennessee-uga as a rivalry. I have to respect a program to consider it a rival. I can still despise them but I have to respect them. Bama is a rivalry. Florida is a rivalry. I just dont respect uga in any way, meaning that for me uga is just another game that we win or lose.

Trash program. Annoying fans. Nothing about uga calls for respect.

The only way 2 minimum freshman are not on the Oline is if they miss on the 2 that haven't signed yet.

Hill, Salyer, Cleveland, Truss, and then Shaffer would be my guess. I could see Webb or Jones, assuming he signs, pushing for a playing time, but I doubt they start. Long way to go though.

Hill needs to move to guard. That's his future. Truss has 3 games experience, Cleveland needs to get his grades right, Shaffer is dealing with an injury, if healthy he will start.

Shaffer has been cleared and Cleveland is back with the team. O-line will take a step back, but I’m more concerned with WR and possibly QB. Tennessee will have the best o-line on paper. Y’all could have similar issues with WR and QB though.

It is different in that I find UF fans infinitely less irritating than uga fans.

uga fans are like yellow labs - constantly needing affirmation of just how great they are.
That is only because the gators have stunk for a decade. If they ever find a quarterback, the trailer park xmas lights will be rehung.

WR is not a concern. Granted the Vols are not ready to compete beyond the east (and that needs QB improvement by alot). Palmer is back at 6'2 200 pounds with 3 years in system, Keyton has a year in system and played behind and learned from 3 stars this year, Gibbs 6'1 200(5* transfer) is eligible after a year in system and has impressed, Johnson is back after redshirting for the team to get a 5th year to bolster the group. A big strong healthy group that is talented and experienced. Hyatt and Callaway will likely play 4 games and redshirt unless they earn more time.

QB is the elephant turd in the room. Can Gitmo pull it together his SR year or will the Vols will have a controversy they dont need that will lead as many as 3 QBs transfering. Best case is that Gitmo channels learned his lesson and is good to go. The flashes he has shown become the norm. Its unrealistic to expect that. It could happen but it's far from a given. Next best case is a rotation of Maurer/Bailey and King/Holiday. I doubt Pruitt does that beyond packages, just not his style. Worst case is they cant find a guy by summer.

They will be helped by a good but thin Oline and a real deep at RB with Gray/Chandler(healthy now)/Jordan all back. Speculation is a bigger LB moving to RB for when a bigger back is needed.
