Kobe Bryant dead

Dude was an adulterer at best, but more likely a rapist, and wasn’t even the best player in his generation. Don’t get the hoopla.
It’s really sad for his daughters and the other families who lost parents and daughters on that flight, but no one or the media is talking about that.
I read the Colorado case this evening after seeing your post. The plaintiff was of questionable mental status and character and actually had evidence of multiple sexual partners in her underwear when she was examined the next day. Sounds like an opportunist to me so your take in Kobe being a rapist is unfounded. Anyway you are a despicable person for posting your comments here tonight.

She actually slept with 3 different men in as many days leading up to that night. Plus she would not testify in court. I am not a big Kobe fan but what that clown said is uncalled for.

You, sir, may go skydive without a parachute.

Man this is awful. I have not seen this reported yet.
Read it last night and heard something similar on cable news this morning. I have looked at so many areas regarding Kobe that I cannot remember specific sources. There are 4 victims whose names have not been released including at least one pilot.

Helicopters are NOT safe. Just look at all the Military Copters that crash each year. Not getting on one; ever. Tragic loss of life, we all knew Kobe; but those Young Girls, the Baseball Coach, the Pilot, it's just heartbreaking.

I keep looking at the news every couple of hours thinking this can’t be Kobe and it still doesn’t seem real. I for one am absolutely devastated. Dévastés more for his daughter that passed with him and his family that will carry on his legacy. Even though I never met him, I adore Kobe just as much as we all adore Peyton. He was one of my heroes and heroes aren’t suppose to die. Especially not this young. I was born in 91 and was lucky enough to get to follow his NBA career to the end. He was the sole reason I fell in love with basketball. Not MJ, not Shaq, not LeBron, but Kobe was the only reason I ever knew this great game of basketball. I owe him thanks for drawing me in with his mindset. Every time I played in high school I wanted to play with that Mamba Mentality even if I wasn’t as talented as everyone else. I remember severely tearing ligaments in my ankle and my stupid self decided to try to play through it because I thought if Kobe can do it, I can do it. Turned out I only lasted a few minutes and went to the doctor and they said I couldn’t play for at least a month. Those are the types of things Kobe always played through somehow. Even an Achilles year couldn’t stop him. I am just grateful to call him one of my sports idols growing up and it was a pleasure to get to watch him play. There will never be another like him in my eyes. Make sure you tell the people that you love, “I love you” every single day. You never know when their last breath will be. RIP Kobe and Gigi

I’m not getting into the events of Colorado but just because someone had sex before the incident doesn’t mean that their story is any less credible. It’s highly irresponsible to say so. Doesn’t matter if someone had sex with 50 partners before the incident occurred. Using “oh this person had sex before the incident so it’s not as credible” is ridiculous.

It makes her story less credible and Kobe is innocent until proven guilty. There are other facts to this case that lend credibility to the opinion that she was in it for the money. Read up on it. As a staff member you should be more concerned with the “Grudenhaslanded” unacceptable comments regarding Kobe’s death.

It keeps getting worse and worse as details come out. Somewhere there's a team of 13 yr old girls who apparently just lost 3 teammates, several team parents, their coach and their assistant coach. All of us who've traveled with our kids on these teams know the family atmosphere that develops. This is devastating for these kids beyond my comprehension. Don't think there are enough thoughts and prayers in the known universe to comfort them, but its worth a shot.

P.S. Kobe's daughter's dream was to play for UConn! Good for her, bet she watched and enjoyed the game the other night.

I love all the bad takes. Rapist and adulterer are pretty good, but I especially like:

He was just a basketball player. What's up with our priorities? Why doesn't anybody care about the other people who died? - virtue signaling guy

We know who Kobe was. He meant something to us. We didn't know the other people involved. The baseball coach's family is mourning he and his daughter's death more than Kobe because they are the ones they knew better. There is nothing wrong with that, just like there is nothing wrong with everybody else making a bigger deal about Kobe. Strangers die tragically every day and we don't have the ability to put much care into each one individually.

It does not make her story less credible. It means she had sex before the incident. Is anyone that has sex before a rape incident less credible? No it doesn’t. It’s incredibly irresponsible to say so. You can make other points about the case but if you’re main argument is “she had sex before the incident” then maybe come back with a better argument.

And I deleted multiple posts that were out of line.

Look guy it wasn't just that she had sex before. They found multiple other guys DNA in her rape kit. She got off work, apparently went and had sex with 2 guys. Then came back to her hotel to "visit" Kobe. You not very smart if you didn't see what was going on..

Credibility of an accusation can be weighed against the character of the person making the accusation. It is not irresponsible to mention that at all. It’s good you deleted some of the posts. The plaintiff was not credible not because of the multiple sex partners alone she had around the time of the Kobe incident but because of other facts of the case. There were reports from other employees and also her refusal to testify after the original complaint. My judgement reflects what many others feel about the case. Her accusations were not credible.

Fully aware this is probably useless, but here's the flip side to that argument. Doesn't matter if she had sex with the whole team in public and then shot five porn movies, NO means NO. Nothing prior to the actual act in question matters; multiple sex partners do not remove a women's right to refuse anyone at anytime.

I'm aware it removes the possibility of many people to believe she said NO, but the fact is the only real question is did she or did she not give consent in that particular situation.

Okay, the reality is that Kobe made a huge, mistake in his life and basically admitted it after the criminal charges were dismissed in this statement:

First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colorado.

I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado

Then, he reached an out of court civil suit settlement of about 2.5 million dollars with the victim.

The forensic evidence also supported the victim's claim

The big criticism of Kobe's legal team was the way in which they attacked and slut shamed the victim, just as these posters have done.
"Well, if a woman has had sex before the "rape" well she must have been asking for it..." And people ask, why are all these #metoo women all upset about.

The victim was also inundated with hate mail and death threats. Kobe escaped jail time (and the end of his career most likely) because the victim ultimately refused to testify.

On the other side, Kobe really seemed to have turned his life around and did a lot of good for a lot of people.

It is hard to sort through his legacy but I think we need to acknowledge that he was a great athlete and public figure (and father) who inspired a lot of people, was a huge advocate of women's sports, a major philanthropist, who also did a really horrible thing when he was in his early 20s.

It is a complicated moral issue but maybe immediately after his tragic death is not the best time to adjudicate it all.

Disagree. Her actions before and after the supposed rape do matter when making a judgement call whether she is telling the truth.

You don't know what you are talking about. Does the fact that Kobe also admitted to adultery with other women when he was first questioned by Colorado police, impact his credibility?

If you took time to google on the facts of the case, rather than slut shaming, you might alter your view. Or see my above post...

Forsenic evidence indicates a sexual act occurred with Kobe but does not indicate a rape occurred. She had consensual sex with at least two others that day according to what I have read. Serious credibility issue with this girl.

Kobe was the only other player in the history of the NBA with a skill set close to MJ’s and probably the best volume scorer to ever play. RIP to the black mamba and prayers to his friends & family.
