Webb is a RS freshman.. And Joe Brady was only at LSU for a year...and the two 5*s at wr last year were two of three wrs that Fromm actually had good chemistry with.. Do some research man don't be a foolWebb and VPG are both summer enrollees. That's asking alot of a true freshman to be ready to play center in the SEC while implementing a new system. That's the crux of it. Expecting so many new parts to click from day one is just asking too much. And for some reason the average UGA fan is just too stupid to acknowledge it. LSU was 2 years in the making, not 1 summer in the making. UGA couldn't even get a 3 year starter at QB on the same page with a crop of 5* WRs in a year.
So with all the returning starting talent and offensive stability at UT would it be considered an underachievement if they fail to win the east? Obviously UGA and UF are losing so much it would seem to outside observer that I would be disappointed if my team didn’t capitalize with all of the pieces in place. But the other 4 QBs in the QB room have. HB isnt expected to start on day 1. And if he does? The OC and his system are in place, the Oline returns intact, all 3 RBs return, the staff has worked together, HB is an early enrollee going into an intact system. Again you miss the point. Tweeking a system vs wholesale change/rebuild.
@moderators is this going to be a Tennessee board again? I miss that.
And Tennessee is going to beat Alabama, Oklahoma, and uga because you beat a few bad teams in close games to end the season. Tenn fans are just as delusional.. Maybe a little more. Tenn fans keep saying "with better QB play we can (insert absurd prediction) " But no god forbid uga fans think we're going to be just fine next seasonThe various UGA forums are fun to read right now. They are too stupid to see that replaces 9 starters, 8 in the 2 deep, new QB that hasn't had an organized practice, new OC that didn't call plays last year, new O staff that hasnt worked together, and a head coach that gets nervous and wants to go conservative on O, means that they will be the next LSU next year. Talk about ignorance and no understanding of reality. They sound like the girlfriend/wife with no idea but trying to be a good fan.
I feel bad for them actually. As a breed UGA fans are mentally fragile to begin with and reality is not going to be kind to them.
I love UT and hate UGA but this post is spot on. God forbid people try and talk reality instead of being emotional about things like this idiot UT fan is doing. What's great is when they talk about us being able to beat OU next year because they are losing their WR's, LB, DE's and Safety and that means we are prime to beat them, yet when you point out we are losing the same, they get all offended and act like it's insanity to not think OUR guys are going to improve...but other teams guys are not.So with all the returning starting talent and offensive stability at UT would it be considered an underachievement if they fail to win the east? Obviously UGA and UF are losing so much it would seem to outside observer that I would be disappointed if my team didn’t capitalize with all of the pieces in place.
So by this ridiculously stupid orange glasses/kool-aid gulping by the gallon post, there is zero reason for Pruitt and the Vols to not win the East? But the other 4 QBs in the QB room have. The GA public education at work. Nice. Reading comprehension is a skill that seems as lost on UGA fans as advertised. Where in my post do I have the Vols winning the East? It would require unrealistic improvement at QB. Could Gitmo click and figure it out? It could happen but its unrealistic to expect it. I have Florida as the top to bottom best team in the east. They get the easiest draw from the west in a depleted LSU and a rebuilding Ole Miss, return enough talent for Mullen to win most of the east matchups. So by this ridiculously stupid orange glasses/kool-aid gulping by the gallon post, there is zero reason for Pruitt and the Vols to not win the East?

UF is still in better position roster and schedule wise.So with all the returning starting talent and offensive stability at UT would it be considered an underachievement if they fail to win the east? Obviously UGA and UF are losing so much it would seem to outside observer that I would be disappointed if my team didn’t capitalize with all of the pieces in place.
Schedule wise yes, but not close roster wise.
I can see that and why UF would have the edge. So, would it be safe then to say that you have UT beating UGA next year and finishing 2nd in the east and if not that would be a failure given the circumstances? They know who their QB is and he has played for the staff. That's not something UGA can say. Infact the UGA O staff has never worked together, its Oline 2 deep is a mystery likely utilizing multiple true freshman because one possible returner is on academic probation, another is subject to a federal bullying lawsuit, the WRs outside 1 are suspect and the 1 is rumored to be a character risk. While Florida is not as talented they are more experienced in more slots.
Raw talent outside QB yes UGA has an advantage but experience and familiarity plus talent beat raw talent. Especially in road SEC rivalries. I despise Mullen but he has the schedule and roster to win the east.
Vols will be 2 or 3 depending on QB play. UGA draws Bama and Auburn from the west while Vols draw Bama and Arky, so the schedule advantage goes to the Vols. The east is going to be pretty bad again next year so it will likely come down to avoiding the upset by the bottom of the east. The Vols play at UGA late and UGAs either going to have it figured out or be struggling.I can see that and why UF would have the edge. So, would it be safe then to say that you have UT beating UGA next year and finishing 2nd in the east and if not that would be a failure given the circumstances?
UGA fans said the same about Fulmer as Vol fans are saying about Kirby until........
"Fulmer cant beat Memphis St with Peyton Manning"
"Fulmer won 1 SEC championship with Peyton and got pasted by Nebraska. Now Peyton is leaving...."

I agree, I think UGA takes a step back from last year. I know some UGA fans come on here trolling but my honest question is where do UT fans see the program next year. I see tons of posts about how UGA does less with more, fails to meet expectations, etc... but when you’re pre-season 3 and finish 4 it seems pretty close. Now that UT seems to have the OL, RB, Senior QB with multiple years starting, etc... why would that not be a disappointment if they don’t win? It’s pretty easy to say (blank) will take a step back, it’s harder to say (blank) will win or we failed@UGAtrolls
There is a thread on 247 UGAs junkyard about the very idea that the transition to the new O and replacing so much of the 2 deep. Shockingly none of the expect so much as a hiccup. It's like they don't understand it's not a video game where you can just plug in a new everything and get a finished product day 1.
And yet Fulmer has a NATTY as a head coach what does Kirby have? I mean yeah he has some as a DC but so does Pruitt and that’s at 2 different schools unlike Kirby. So again let me know when UGA wins a NC, I mean maybe in Gymnastics or something but they aren’t in basketball, baseball, softball, or pretty much anything else including Football!

Sounds like the east will be a 3 way battle going forward. I think Bailey has a bright future. Pruitt and Kirby both have had some young coach moments but both seem like future stars in the coaching world. I personally loved when the east was a battle and hope to bring that back with multiple challengers. For the Vols it's as simple as QB play. Can they get positive, consistent play from the QB regardless of who goes out there. Many on here want Bailey to start day 1 and as an early enrollee he has a shot. 6'5 211 he needs to be in the weight room adding 10-15 pounds of muscle and in the film room when not doing voluntary drills. If he wants to be QB1 he needs to establish it now. Most likely it will be Gitmo getting the first shot. Maurer will be in year 2 and healthy and King will get packages for himself. Shrout has a girlfriend at UT on the softball team so I doubt he leaves. It will be interesting to see how Maurer handles the competition.
Completion at Gaurd, ILB, Edge Rusher, Safety, and corner will be about sorting depth more so than finding SEC caliber guys that can play. And that really be a marked difference than we have seen in a long time. Having quality depth at most key spots that mean not rushing a freshman or borderline guy into a bad position.
The otherside is who leaves this offseason. And we know some will. Be it passed over, unhappy about playing time or a case of the stupids, attrition is part of the game now. I expect to see a QB and likely an RB leave, realistically more will go. Hopefully it's not too bad.
9-3/8-4 with OK QB play is the expectation. Its were the Vols should have been last season. Good QB play adds another win and would be a solid season and likely be enough to push Florida for the East title and a shot at the SEC.
