Virginia, MLK day, Accelerationists, Trump, GOP

When the Continental Congress did just that, overcoming multiple cavernous divides to draft one of the most well-written and enduring governing documents of the modern era?

What do you think those fabled , esteemed men would say to a political party who has presidential hopefuls openly admitting to a gun confiscation by the government when they took office ?

Then use it to get what you want, stop trying to bastardize it.

Unfortunately, don't be a dick to others and listen to understand instead of hearing to reply don't fit well in governing documents.

We hold these truths to be self evident, that men shall not be a dick to others...

Let's start here, then. What is the primary reason why a majority of Virginians voted for their representatives to address gun proliferation? Safety. They were using the ballot to say that they were increasingly feeling unsafe around individuals and groups that increasingly use weaponry as the primary motivator to solve problems or establish dominance.
who was using weaponry to solve problems or establish dominance?

non-sequitur.

The 2A was written at a time when the word arms did not include weapons that could destroy the world. Therefore, I think a reasonable interpretation would be to place certain "arms" outside of the rights granted under 2A. Hence my comment about limits.
Industrial revolution was already under way. World was appropriately doomed at that time. Climate Change ftw.

Also I dont think the people of Virginia are worried about their own nukes.

Maybe the government should de-nuke itself since you are so worried.

You sure you're not drunk?

If you want to be listened to go through the proper procedures to alter the constitution. Until then you are nothing but whining children.

You want me to speak straight to what my issue is? Sure.

This isn't the gun culture I was raised around. I never saw my family treat guns as some kind of shibboleth; it was something you kept so that you could eat or protect. There wasn't much to-do when these issues came up, just a shrug and going on. My generation was educated to respect them and treat them as tools of the mountain life trade.

Now, I'm finding myself increasingly surrounded by bloviates who treat those without gun experience or education as some type of failed life form to be mocked and ridiculed instead of informed. I see the best, broadest national advocacy program as one of the biggest bullies in the room that doesn't really give a **** what's going on the world and steps up attacks on those with real concerns. And then there's the labelmakers and smallminders who come across as "Herr derr, you disagree with this one issue you must have small peen! Must be a stoopid Dim! Go away! Derr!" instead of actually showing some humanity and trying to bring them into the fold of understanding and respect.

I keep forgetting that this isn't a place for substantive conversation towards amicable ends. That's 100% on me.
Do you feel better after getting that off your chest? And what exactly do you think your rant solves or even facilitates with regard to pro gun advocates telling Gun grabbers to piss off on further limitations.

It’s been stated by multiple people multiple times. We aren’t interested in any more dialog discussing how to further dilute our rights. If you want to ask “why” in an adolescent fashion over and over I’ll just say “because”

And I’ve seen nothing in your posts regarding “real concerns” from gun control advocates. All I’ve really seen are more irrational fear of an inanimate object which has no will or consciousness on its own.

This diatribe gets old. So next time you get pissy because you think you’re getting needlessly dismissed maybe consider the things you’re bringing up have been exhaustively brought up before?

yea, and some like you were still curtsying up to King George asking him to "understand, please" as Americans were out fighting for their liberties

I disagree with what you claim to be a reasonable interpretation and see no evidence that the founding fathers didn’t consider that arms in general and firearms specifically would continue to grow in power.

I increasingly feel like the sober guy at the bar pointing out that some of the more popular ideas from the three-drinks-in group might not be the best ideas. So be it. It's why God put me on this earth.
Maybe one group simply aren’t interested in your ideas limiting their rights and it has nothing to do with how many drinks they had?

You know , I don’t know why but it just dawned on me how many nukes i have around me at any given time in Norfolk . Ok I maybe a little worried about our own nukes . Lol

In @AshG ’s defense many times Ash simply tries to do a bit of devil’s advocate to get some dialog going. I’d submit this probably isn’t the best topic for that. We’ve rehashed it over and over and over... and as several of us stated we are simply not interested in any further dialog in diluting gun ownership rights. The only dialog I’m personally interested in is a prioritized list of existing legislation which we can work to repeal ASAP 🤷‍♂️

But you have argued there is no interpretation necessary. Either the right is not limitless like you argue or you believe in private ownership of nuclear weapons.
You are making up an argument here to fit your side. I haven't spent too much time looking at the protests but I haven't seen anyone arguing for nukes.

Got any more red herrings?

Don’t worry, where you’re at if one lights off you won’t even get time to think about saying “oh $h!t” before you’re powder 👍

Well I wouldnt trust the government either. They have "lost" more than 100 nukes. I believe there is more than a dozen still missing.
