Freshmen QB who was not ready only being 150 pounds and was thrown in against our toughest defenses... Still threw for two TDS against Georgia. He will be very good once he puts some weight on and develops more.
We lose to KY if we keep playing him and might lose to MSST with how he was playing in the red zone. Plus in the GA game he didn’t complete a pass in the third quarter which took us out of the game. I didn’t see a lot of promise other than his passion on the field. Wish we had recruited Sam Howell

All those teams needed a qb. Situation dictates as usual.
We need a QB. Most likely We’re going to lose at least one of the QBs that played last year. Kasim hill is a fullback.

So that leaves you with some combination of:

-Mediocre at best JG
-injury prone but promising BM
-Shrout Coaches don’t want
- True freshman

Do we really need another DB or DT? Lol

We are going to have JG, Maurer, Shrout, HB, and Holiday on campus next season and people are asking about grad transfer QBs? Come on . . . we need WRs, LBs and help on the lines, not another QB. Frankly, I would be psyched if we held on to the five we've got.

If you get lucky with a transfer like burrow, Wilson, mayfield, Murray, minshew etc... there’s a very good shot you win the East next year. It’s worth the risk Virtually every year imo.its no different than teams drafting a QB most years like the patriots even when you don’t need one.

Could use some OT’s...and edge rushers.

And Kasim Hill’s a fullback when Keller Chryst’s a LB..,

lol

Lol the common fan rebuttal. When you don’t understand what you’re watching, throw out a grenade. You got me!

Have you maybe tried talking to your wife about it? Maybe find out what she likes about JG and try to emulate that. Because this blind irrational hate isn’t a good look bud.

You’re right pal. QB was our strength last year and should be among the best in the SEC next year. My mistake.

You must have missed the first half of the Georgia game. Freak YouTube’s the games. JG has never played like that against a good team.

All I know is Maurer was good for just 50% and we still lost by 4 TDs. He played an okay half and then vanished.

Meanwhile JG comes in against Mississippi State and goes 6 of 7 for 106 and ices it with the only passing TD of the game to Byrd.

Comes into the Kentucky game, on the road with a bum hand and goes 7 of 8 for 115 and 2 TDs to lead that come back, while also running for 30 yards.

Slings it for 415 on Missouri in their house and throws 2 TDs to win that one. Was having a great game against South Carolina too before breaking his hand on that last TD to Jennings.

Last year he lit Auburn up on the road for 300+ and 2 TDs in a win, then threw for a couple TDs and about 200 against the best Kentucky team ever. Not to mention just last year at Georgia he went for 2 TDs and 143 on 62% with no picks in a game that was 24-12 until the last minutes of the 4th when Georgia piled on 2 late TDs.

Keywords in that post was “good teams”. JG gives us a ceiling. Do you honestly think he’s got the game to take us to 8,9, or 10 wins despite losing his top 3 pass catchers? Honestly?

It’s not going to work every time but when it does it can be really special. So why not take the risk? 1/25 really that big of a deal at the most important position in sports?
I don’t think we’re at a point in our program where we can waste spots on a long shot. If there’s a special QB that’s leaving another school I have to wonder about the reason. We actually considered Minshew and I was all for it at the time. We also took George and Brandon Davis in that class. Different points. If there’s a clear homerun QB that wants to sign on, then the coaches might jump. Doubt they take a flyer on a long shot.
