A legion of horribles, hundreds in number, half naked or clad in costumes attic or biblical or wardrobed out of a fevered dream with the skins of animals and silk finery and pieces of uniform still tracked with the blood of prior owners, coats of slain dragoons, frogged and braided cavalry jackets, one in a stovepipe hat and one with an umbrella and one in white stockings and a bloodstained wedding veil and some in headgear or cranefeathers or rawhide helmets that bore the horns of bull or buffalo and one in a pigeontailed coat worn backwards and otherwise naked and one in the armor of a Spanish conquistador, the breastplate and pauldrons deeply dented with old blows of mace or sabre done in another country by men whose very bones were dust and many with their braids spliced up with the hair of other beasts until they trailed upon the ground and their horses' ears and tails worked with bits of brightly colored cloth and one whose horse's whole head was painted crimson red and all the horsemen's faces gaudy and grotesque with daubings like a company of mounted clowns, death hilarious, all howling in a barbarous tongue and riding down upon them like a horde from a hell more horrible yet than the brimstone land of Christian reckoning, screeching and yammering and clothed in smoke like those vaporous beings in regions beyond right knowing where the eye wanders and the lip jerks and drools.

Dammit, I love McCarthy.
punctuation.

All coaches at group of 5 programs talk about how they love it where they are. And most of them do. But when money and better job opportunities come along, they take it.

I think he’s been waiting for the perfect opportunity to beat the shat out of Saban. Ever since he shook hands at the end of the only TSIO game with us, he’s wanted another chance to make good on his comment that “you’ll never beat me again.” Or something like that...

Ole Miss after just coming off NCAA probation would hire Kiffin? With Memphis just Up the road and know as one of the most crooked recruiting regions and you place Lane in the center of it. Doesn’t seem like a smart move by Ole Miss long term. Short term yes, but is there any doubt they are back in the NCAA crosshairs with 2 years if they Hire Lane?

I guess that's our difference. I think we can and will compete with Bama and UGAs with Pruitt at the helm. And I am viewing our interest from that perspective.
Hahahaha so self righteous. Why so scared to compete against other "lower" level teams if you think we can compete with bama and Georgia? And yeah, I am known for never thinking we can compete with the top. And always doubting our chances. I always like to put a ceiling on our next season win prediction. Usually I cap it at XV-Nulla.

Man Utah was not ready for Oregon speed, maybe it's better they got exposed last night instead of taking a worse beating to Ohio State or LSU.

Still disappointing we don't see any new blood in the playoffs, at this point Baylor is the only hope.

Also I'd love to see Virginia knock off Clemson after all the whining old Dabo been doing.

Arkansas fans always have high hopes. They even thought they were getting Gruden when we were after him the first time. (at least Gruden admitted he loves the VOLS). I was rooting for Lane to go there, but they wear pig snouts and call the pigs. It's just not good.

Both Tua and Joe could do great things in the NFL - in the right orgs. Or, they could end up being Jameis and Marcus. Both have been operating in systems this season that translate well to the NFL. The one or both that go to teams that do not have to trot them out there for a year or two will be the most likely to succeed.

This is what is suprising to me. Recruiting and coaching wise makes all the sense in the world but you just got through the Freeze deal. NCAA will be watching his every move closely based on his history. If your NCAA your probably thinking ok Ole Miss thinks we don’t mean business

I think it'll be the same as before..
Interfere with Bama, risk NCAA wrath. Don't and they won't care. Just more of the Miami, coach Wade or UNC usual.

Too many transfer kids to screw over and bell cows to milk, already on their calendar.

Step one teach your kids not to piss on the end zone. Step two coach that running qb up. Step 3 stay away from the sorority houses.

8 team playoff helps Tennessee because elite recruits will no longer be so heavily concentrated to our two rival opponents each year (UGA and Bama) and our regional recruiting rival Clemson. It may take time to take effect, but it’s better than where we are now.

We need each conference to go into a round robin regular season format though.
