Music City Bowl wants Vols (merged)

Fine with me too because I could put a KY state champs sign up outside my office!

and keep the door locked!

MCB against Louisville a team I feel pretty confident about beating, and a 5.65 million payout...

Or

Gator Bowl against Michigan who I think beats us and a 3.16 million payout...

It ain't hard for me.

Dont really think Michigan falls that far down on the payout -- Gator usually gets a Big 10 west team

Which game draws more attention to the program, it ain't hard for me

If we had beaten GA St and BYU we would be going. They look nowhere else because there are teams with more than 7 wins and without losses to cupcakes.

Lol, it wouldn’t matter if we didn’t lose the nxt two years some of you would say well if we wouldn’t have lost to those two we’d be better.

It happened move on.

Any team not named Ohio State from the Big10 isn't a world beater, you're giving Michigan wayyyyyyyyyy too much credit

Who said anything about world beaters? How am I giving Michigan wayyyyyyyy too much credit? Because I simply said I "think" they beat us? Because 2 coaches of teams we beat got fired after we beat them and 1 probably would have if not for 17 million in buyout? We're not world beaters either.

One minute we're lucky if we go 2-10 now all of a sudden we world beaters. No middle ground for this bunch.

We're 7-5 and haven't been relevant since 2001. I don't see how we should "demand or deserve" anything. I'm grateful to finally have a winning season and be bowling. I've lived through a lot of ups and downs since my first game in '65. This last 15 year stretch is probably the worst I've been through. It's given me a new perspective and yes, appreciation of how difficult the SEC is these days along with how difficult winning seasons are to come by in this conference. I'll never look down my nose at a winning season or any bowl game ever again. Doesn't mean I'm "settling" or "accepting mediocrity". I just appreciate what this team has done and am thankful for what rewards come their way.
Nonsense. We were “relevant” in 03,04,06,07,15 and 16. And we can look down to bowls in comparison to others bowls because we have one of the top 10 traditions in football as well as one of the top fan bases in sports that travels everywhere. This team deserves Michigan or penn st or Minnesota in a Florida bowl. Not the music city bowl. Not this year

Where did I say anything about Tennessee being world beaters? You said you'd rather go kick the crap out of a lowly Louisville team then maybe go lose to Michigan. Ok, what if we go to the MCB and Louisville beats us by 2 tds? Then how does that look? And unless I'm overlooking something, other than Mizzou who else did we beat that fired their coach?

Just to be clear.

Im not losing any sleep over who we get for a bowl, I'm thrilled we're going bowling. But after the crap we've been through, especially these last 3 years, I just want this season to end with a win. After this year I'll.look at all of this different, but right for the love of Scarlett Johansson, give me as close to a sure win as possible.

Maybe I'm just not the recruiting guru everyone else is, but I don't see who we play in a bowl outside of the big 6 is that critical to recruiting. It seems to me a win vs Louisville would be better than a loss to Michigan, but still not the end of the world either way. If it is, okay, I'm wrong. No big deal I'm wrong often.

Yes, I had rather go kick the chit out of lowly Louisville *THAN maybe lose to Michigan. This year. If we are on our way back, this crap won't matter in another month anyway.

I I got ahead of myself, only Mizz coach, I was including Arkansas. My bad.

Yea, we can lose to anyone. Who do you think we have a better shot at beating, Louisville or Michigan?

Oh I agree with you that we have a better shot at Louisville but I'm just thinking optics. We beat Louisville and no one cares, lose to them and the birds start chirping. Beat Michigan and we're the talk of the bowl season outside of the playoffs obviously. I also don't think Michigan is that good

I'd prefer the Vols to play in the Outback Bowl for the sake of prestige but, as someone out of state who typically only comes back to Tennessee for UT home games, I'd like the opportunity to see the Vols play in Nashville and make a fun long-NYE weekend out of it.
Agree...If no Gator, then Music City. Outback won’t happen, unless long shot...UGA beats LSU, and then MAYBE...

I would love Music City. We had a great time there when they played Nebraska, but the referees sucked at the NC game!

I just read on 247, their final bowl projections, and they have us playing Wisconsin in the Outback!
Do we really want to see Wisconsin in a bowl game? I’m kinda torn on this.
GBO!!

They almost beat the 07 Vols in the Outback Bowl, so careful what you wish for
Not gonna lie, a Wisconsin matchup worries me.
TBH, I’m not really worried about losing, Tennessee would be the dog, for sure. What worries me is the nut job fans that are screaming we want Michigan or Wisconsin, are the same ones that will be screaming “fahr Pruitt”, if we lose. I love me some Volnation and visit the sight on the daily and I ain’t trying to hear that nonsense, all off season!
GBO!!

I don't think Michigan is that good, but I think we'd need to have a complete game which how many of those have we had this year? and need the good JG to show up to beat them because we're not that good either.

ND would draw more fans to the MCB than Louisville -- Louisville is # 1 in basketball right now so basically they dont give a crap about football anymore, this year

With how the rest of the ACC performed this year, a ranked Notre Dame at 10-2 is going to end up inserted into the first ACC bowl available after the Orange Bowl, meaning they’re pretty much a lock for the Camping World Bowl vs a Big 12 team (...with the exception being a now seemingly very unlikely scenario in which UVA’s Orange Bowl opponent is a Big 10 team, in which case the Citrus Bowl would become an SEC v ACC matchup and 10-2 Notre Dame would become a lock for that one).
