The Impeachment Thread

Who calls witnesses? Who are the jurors? Where is the trial held?

I believe it is held in the Senate chamber. The House will choose a team to call witnesses, produce evidence and cross examine. The WH will appoint a similar team to defend.

There is no basis for these claims other than the fact that principled conservatives are now persona non grata in the party formerly known as the GOP.

Now we have the Trumplican party on one side, which has no ideological bent other than Hail Trump; AND Democrats who are still deciding whether they want to be at the adult table or sit at the fold out with the Democratic Socialists.

We desperately need a third party for people who understand Economics, Science, History and International Diplomacy. Hell, basic math even. It won't happen though, because such a party would be too boring for the holier-than-though victims, brain-dead boot-lickers, and virtue signaling shut-ins on social media.
Unfortunately a viable third or fourth party is the one and only true thing that Ds and Rs can 100%agree on.

I got this off Wiki:
Senate Trial:
The proceedings unfold in the form of a trial, with each side having the right to call witnesses and perform cross-examinations. The House members, who are given the collective title of managers during the course of the trial, present the prosecution case, and the impeached official has the right to mount a defense with his or her own attorneys as well. Senators must also take an oath or affirmation that they will perform their duties honestly and with due diligence. After hearing the charges, the Senate usually deliberates in private. The Constitution requires a two-thirds super majority to convict a person being impeached.[29] The Senate enters judgment on its decision, whether that be to convict or acquit, and a copy of the judgment is filed with the Secretary of State.[19] Upon conviction in the Senate, the official is automatically removed from office and may also be barred from holding future office. The trial is not an actual criminal proceeding and more closely resembles a civil service termination appeal in terms of the contemplated deprivation. Therefore, the removed official may still be liable to criminal prosecution under a subsequent criminal proceeding. The President may not grant a pardon in the impeachment case, but may in any resulting Federal criminal case.[30]

Roberts would have no say in the Senate dismissing the charges, he doesn't get involved until the trial actually starts. Besides Trump has already stated if impeached he wants a full trial in the Senate.
He also said he wanted to release his taxes.
He also said he wanted to testify.
Is their anyone left that believes a single word that comes out of his mouth?
Always take the opposite of what he says as your initial starting point and you will be right more than not.
There is no way in hell he wants a trial in the Senate.

Yep. Stopping a common sense revolution to protect the dark money and and political action committees and lobbyist money showers and no-bid contracts and corporate welfare is why those two parties are there, primarily.

Lol... What else would a state department official say about a back channel communication? "Thanks for the help"?
They may say something like....
"It's not that unusual."
"We don't really like it but it happens all of the time."
"It helped us reach the objectives that were best for the country."

But they said.
"It sucked, he sucked, we hated it, and we've never seen anything like it in our career.".......basically

LOL.....
After they knew about the whistle blower.
Somebody used the analogy earlier.
It's like the bank robber who is leaving with the cash but runs back in and puts it back when he realizes the cops are there and he's about to get busted.
If you are capable, a simple yes or no would work.

You seem intelligent enough to know what he did and was attempting to do. If you're good with it, so be it. I'll leave it that.

But you’re cool with a dim VP extorting a country for he and his “wonderful” sons’s monetary gain? Not just the VP, how many dim offspring work for a foreign company that they have ZERO qualifications for?

Charge him, try him, and lock him up.
That goes for any and all. D or R.
The children of the wealthy and powerful have always benefit for no reason other than being born, don't for a second think that's exclusive to politics.
