Just started Jack Ryan, season 1. Two episodes in, wow this is intense. Each episode feels like a movie.

Question, wife watched Episode 1 with me and when homeboy pulled a machine gun out of the cadaver, she was out.... does it stay pretty bloody and crazy?

It does.

I watched season 2 over the weekend. I really like this series. I do not watch much tv accept Vol football and basketball. I am waiting for the release of The Man in the High Castle. Jack Ryan is really bloody

They are all mercenaries. If money was right, he would take it. But, money won’t be right at this point in his career.

I don't see this happening. Why would you want to leave a program that you have just started to turn the corner on to go to another trashed out program just to start doing it again. I don't see FSU being a more attractive program than UT and I believe CP is an SEC man.

Maybe practice? Shrout is still a redshirt freshman and didn't have much experience from high school if I recall correctly. JG had a very pedestrian game yesterday, but the only way we were losing to UAB was if we started turning the ball over on our side of the field.

I think that it was more important for the QB group to make it through this game unscathed so that they are as healthy as possible for the last 3 SEC games. If a QB goes down to injury in this game, which one would you pick. I think that the one that played the lion’s share was the coaches’ pick. The other two can play in SEC games...so they will. JMO

That’s a whole lot better than “1 great year and a bunch of decent or mediocre”.

I do agree with you though that all it takes is the right coach and you can win big at several schools. There’s probably 15 - 20 schools that can actually win a national title in today’s CFB. I believe we are one of those which is ultimately all that matters

I just think with the “right coach” some programs have a significantly easier and quicker path to reaching that elite level even when they are down.
Easier don't mean better...that has been pointed out to you several times..and those FSU records outside the NC don't mean anything to me...he was going to be run out of town on a rail before long. Clemson would have never made your imaginary "Greatest job" list a decade ago, and yet there they are...right at the top of the pile year after year...knocking FSU right off the top of the hill..hmm 🤔

They made a good hire and stuck with him.

Is there really anyone worried that Pruitt would be offered or actually leave UT this year for FSU? LOL
Yeah.. it wont happen. I'm sure Pruitt would love to leave a place he just changed the culture and have to do it again while being further back in development.

I think FSU is going to have a really hard time not getting turned down a hundred times. Every coach will have to think about leaving a place that wants them to go to a place that gave the head coach 21 games before they fired him. That's a tough sell. Theyll have to pay TAMU big for a b lister imo

Not really worried. We’re just discussing if he’s on their list and I’d guess he’d have to be. Even if he’s like 10th or something.

I don’t understand why he’d take that job even if they called - mainly because it’s a total rebuild and he’s got a two year head start here - but crazy things happen around here.

IF the AD were in order, it would be a great job. Honestly, it's smack dab in the middle of a recruiting hotbed with Florida and Georgia. I'd never say any job is the greatest situation. So much rests on the coaching itself. But as far as recruiting talent, it's in an ideal spot.
I agree it is a good job...I just don't like the constant putdowns of Tennessee to make that point.

Do we not get enough of that condecending garbage from the media and other schools fans? Why do we have so many of our fans that want to put us down too?

@volatil None of this would have been possible without you and the staff at STR. Specifically you, since you were the one who posted it here first but then VN did what we do...we took care of our own when they were down. We did it for RichRollin, @chargervol and several others. That's what makes this board great.

What @Atlanta VOL did today was...I can't even describe. Holy crap y'all. Not only did he pitch in a TON for Ashlee, he gave me and my girls the best day I've ever had in Neyland. He's a helluva dude too. Super nice host, down to earth, good guy, great company, and made my family feel welcome. I'll never forget that.

AV, when we get the house built, you're getting an invite to the party that I'm throwing....might not rival yours but I can give it a shot. Plus, a good friend of mine is an award winning chef, I told him he has to cater....there will be a spread.

Anyway... I'll post more when I can, we just got home. Here isr Mrs. ob79 and my girls. Ashlee's the youngest.View attachment 235661

@Atlanta VOL ? He that fake insider? 😂😂😂
This is awesome. Thanks for posting.

People keep ignoring the fact that JG told us that Pruitts plan with him since the Ga game was to bring him off the bench. That Pruitt liked the way he played off the bench. That means he was going to replace 18 even in the Bama game

JG is our 6th man who needs to settle his nerves and comes into the game like a basketball player that essentially ends up playing more than the starter.

It seems clear to me this trend is going to continue regardless of who “the opener” is.

Not the least bit concerned. Dont think FSU would pursue him anyway.
no way in hell they come after Pruitt. Why would they? FSU is still a top tier program in the ACC. i mean exactly what that says. Great facilities, recognition, Florida & absolutely dick for competition.

I think bama is purely a saban boost. I see them taking a major step back virtually immediately once he retires.
Basically every school on your top tier list took a major step back with the loss of a coach, in your arbitrary 20 year timeline. Maybe not OSU or OK (don't remember) but everyone else.

Alabama has been known for CFB, spending money, championships and being able to make hires like Saban for almost as long as CFB has been on the map. Perfectly centered amongst La, TX, Ga and Fl and multiple, multiple 10 win seasons even in their 20yr "step back".

Honestly, your qualifiers appear to change from post to post, often conflict and it even vary based on whatever best supports the original FSU post.

Money they’re forking out just to fire Taggart? Not even a tire kick. Stoops gets a courtesy interview but only because of their history. You have to believe they have their guy all but MOU’d, for them to jettison Taggart this early and paying even more.

Let’s be real... We’ve seen this story played out before
At least Pruitt was actually the FSU DC. With Jones it was some kinda of odd sync between him being born in Michigan but actual coaching jobs - he coached at Central, and that somehow gave him an extra tie to UM.

Like suggesting we'd put Mason on the top of our list because he coached in TN.
