My big pet peeve is people not using the merging zipper method and sit in the merging lane a mile in advance and don't maximize utilization of both lanes. Slows all traffic down. I know a few states require it and every DOT recommends it, just wish all would require it.

For example the NBA debate on the players not wanting to use the term “owner”. If the players, the ones who are the product and doing 99.9% of the revenue drawing do not feel comfortable using that term or wanted to call them chiefs, presidents, clowns, or whatever does it really matter lol. If any person, race, or whatever isn’t comfortable with something is it really THAT important to you to be able keep doing something that’s not cool with someone else.

Nope. Never give them another way to tax you. Taxes only increase. The federal income tax was "sold" to the American public with the promise that the percentage of taxation would never exceed 1 percent of income. Lies and liers!

I used to think you had good arguments and made good points regarding our team. But that first sentence is more shock jock talk than anything clay has ever said and full of its own thread of racism. Putting an “Lol” at the end of it doesn’t make it any less stupid either. Stick with football banter. It’s obvious that’s the depth of your ability to make a point.

Edit: I saw your explanation and agree regarding the NBA. But there is a serious double standard in society right now and it gets old. <rant over>

One of the goals post-house fire + cancer diagnosis was for the SO to make it to Halloween (and when he first went into the hospital that seemed like a near impossible goal). We did it! And although it took a lot of effort and a little help he even managed to carve a pumpkin. It's not the fanciest thing but it means the world to me. Happy Halloween y'all!

SIAP can we merge this... Sorry, had to do it. I do that drive every other weekend and it sucks! The combination of crappy trucker passes, Sunday drivers in the passing lane and the random college kids flying by like they know how to drive makes my mental road rage go crazy. Add the kids in the backseat and I’m the happiest person on the roadways (blue font).

Was actually surprised VA's total burden wasn't worse considering all the govt minds there. They are also ranked 50th on state govt federal dependency. 13th for citizens.

Most lower tax states are, not surprisingly, receiving more from the federal government than they contribute.

We may get ahead of ourselves. As Jackre said, big undertaking and costly, when much of infrastructure needs funds. Expect self driving trucks and cars will improve traffic once fully implemented, which would probably come as soon as the DOTs expand all the roads haha.

But at least through all cities I'm shocked this isn't true.

always heard that high sales tax was offset by low or 'no' sales tax & income tax. it ate us to death. wife was able to stay home when we moved back. literally, we worked to afford to live in NC.

I-40 has been noticeably busier this football season IMO. Badly need the 3 lanes from Cookeville to Knoxville when you’re going through the hills.

Doesn't matter. There is always 1 truck in the middle passing the slow lane line of "I can pull my own camper...at 45 mph" guy for 20 miles. But I don't even get mad at him. It's the jerk in the fast lane, matching the trucks speed exact, mile after never ending mile.

Except those 2 or 3 times when he pulls up just far enough that he fakes you out in to thinking you can get around. But nah..

Yup always an interplay of sales, income, property. No doubt NC has higher burden than TN, nearly anywhere does. TN is only beaten by AK (Oil) and Delaware (corporate safe haven).
