i agree. i think some are a little over zeaolus with the raving reviews of their defense as a whole. their not THAT good.SC is a really good team. Their DL is legit. This is a very tough game for us.
This has me fired upi agree. i think some are a little over zeaolus with the raving reviews of their defense as a whole. their not THAT good.
but you're not wrong about the DL, i'd put them right up there with FL as the best two we've faced. GA and Bama's are right there too. that's pretty good company if your USCe.
so the good news in all that is that it's not like we haven't already faced some elite level folks up front.....and we're at home. i don't see that o line backing down one bit. heck and while MSU's DL isn't near what it was last year, they're not absolutely awful.....i remember folkd telling us that would be difference in the game, that front against our OL.............same with Bama.
and all we did is go out there and dominate both of them at times. so it's not like we have to go out win every single down or every series. but when you have the chance to put them on their heels, we've shown we can do that, as long as we can hang around and stay somewhat on schedule with down/distance.
every game we play from here on out is against a team that could potentially beat us. for whatever reason. USCe is no different.
but man...i'm ready to see this team take what they've done up to this point, and build on it again and get that 2nd SEC win....and put the rest of the schedule on notice.......
we better freaking bring it Saturday.
A 6th year is a waiver of the 5-year rule. Not what some call a "medical redshirt". It's not semantics. It's completely different concepts and bylaws. 12.8.1 vs 12.8.4.6th year
Let’s not get into arguing semantics of wording but the old medical is still relevant if a player loses 2 years to injury and wants to play in year 6
it's all good, man. i can handle disagreement. Can't take it personally because we don't really know each other personally.@hotcypress Even though I explicitly said that my ire was in no way directed at you when I went off on ubbla yesterday, I worry that it must have felt like it was, anyway. I may well have been wrong. I read an excerpt that @SmokinBob posted last night and I could see your point in it. Just wanted to say.
The thing those guys are missing is Michigan hired JH to beat OSU..period. TAMU hired Jimbo to beat Saban...period. They did not spend all that money to hire those guys to win 9.5 games.Yeah, just like with Harbough, it's not saying he's crap.
But with things like the undated trophy, I think their expectations for the amount they spent, might not end up aligning with reality.
Certainly wouldn't say terrible. Somewhat similar to ours. 127 qbr vs 130 for us. But allowing 1 YPA less than us. Middle of the sec if you go by qbr allowed which is maybe the best overall way to figure it. #12 overall defensive efficiency according to ESPN and better vs same competition. I think our defense is fine. Theirs is pretty darn stingy too thoughTheir defense isn't that great. Their pass defense is terrible
Meh..Here’s the last paragraph of Nick’s post:
“Winning sure beats losing, but I would almost prefer the unknown hope we’ve been living on over the “this is it” which is good enough to not risk changing.”
I didn’t start the discussion, just replied to his premise. My point is I would take the sure 8-10 wins over the “unknown hope” as Nick stated. It sounds an awful lot like the pitch against Mullen during the coaching search.
