Lol..I was reading that thinking "what in the wurl is ol Dudz thinking"This was my impression from the eye test of watching both teams, but statistically, USC and MSU are very close on defense. USC is a little better, particularly against the pass, but neither is outstanding. I haven't looked at advanced analytics, but just on the raw numbers they are pretty comparable.
Edit: I take it back, just found the defensive efficiency rankings, SC is 12th at 79.4 and MSU is 59th at 54.7
The stuff from me is hyperbole. He responds, which I actually respect. But I cant respect his bootleg cigarette business to elementary school kids. @David UbbenThe Ubben bashing on here has really gotten out of hand. While he may post a snarky tweet from time to time or say something dickish on the podcast, that attitude does not come through in his articles. I've been a journalist and read a lot of sports writing. He's the best beat writer we have in terms of writing skills, understanding the game with nuance, and pitching interesting football/football-adjacent stories (like the barber shop story from last week). He puts Rucker to shame.
Correct. But since the 4th quarter of South Carolina game on into this year.. what has our offense Looked like with JG at QB?
No one knows, including our own coaches how shrout will look when he’s given the prep time as the starter. Maurer didn’t look very good when he was just coming in for spot situations. Shrout could come in and pull a Nathan peterman and be a disaster. Or he could come in and play well as Maurer did against Georgia.
I would rather go with the unknown then a know liability.
Never played football. I played soccer in college. Traveled the US from when I was 10-18 on a travel team so I do know what it is like playing for a team and one goal. I know what one cancer can do to a team. We never really had many fans so I know nothing about what they could have possibly wanted from us other than to win and I bet half of them didn’t really know what was going on in the game lol.Of course teams need butts in the seats. That’s a given. They also prob want an awesome atmosphere.
I think any HC is gonna be upset with 3-9 or 4-8, as well as any fanbase. The coaches aren’t going to be upset with themselves bc fans don’t show up. They’re gonna be upset that they’re losing. Worrying about fans is most likely pretty far down the list in terms of things to worry about.
So yes, you lose a bunch — fans don’t come to games — you are in trouble.
But for coaches I’d say it’s more: you lose a bunch — you are in trouble.
They’re worried about losing their team, losing the support of the AD, how to get better, what schemes to run, who the next opponent is, etc etc. This doesn’t even include their personal lives. They most certainly are not worried about fans.
You ever play ball? Any kind of ball at a high(ish) level? Fans always think they know what’s going on, but inside that locker room and coach’s offices they’re thinking about a billion other things than what the fans want.
Yes, in Gadsden. I didn’t care for it. Strike 1: they didn’t have brisket. Strike 2: they served my pulled pork already covered in bbq sauce. Great bbq doesn’t need sauce. Strike 3: they didn’t have Coke Zero. Strike 4: Bama fans everywhere.Heard that is an awesome place. In Gadsden?
Guess you agree it was the scheme and have no response to the point made. You are doing that thing where I make specific Point A and you reply with a non-sequitur about something bigger picture and avoid the point made. I wish there was a term for this fallacy.
"Trump had a nice suit on. Oh, so you like the Russians?!?".take a lap
@zhangliao04 pick and choose your battles bro. Give this one up. Stand your ground on TV package
BTW, this is how peeps are made.Prediction for Saturday. We jump on the kickin' chickens early and often.View attachment 232989
like someone else said, it could be that his expressive actions on the field afterwards forced Pruitts hand to bench him.
Always ask for the sauce on the side. You never know what you're gonna get. Especially out of state.Yes, in Gadsden. I didn’t care for it. Strike 1: they didn’t have brisket. my friend had chicken and dumplings and he said it was the best he’s ever had. But the pulled pork that I had wasn’t very good.
Yeah it’s hope at this point.
i just knew we were losing the MSU game when he came in
and then we didn’t
