This thread has so much misinformation I thought it was produced by CNN, MSNBC, or one of the networks 😂😂. One person states an opinion and the next guy forms his opinion off that guys opinion as if it were fact! SMH. But it is funny to fill a little time .

Yeah went against the grain of the administration. They did not know what to do with a coach who actually had experience in the job description.

I think we have to learn to not be so emotional as a fan base. And I’m definitely saying “we” so as to not be hypocritical because o definitely felt the same way as op. The big issue I had was him coming out and saying he wanted he job but the buyout caused it to not happen. I just can’t understand why the need to vocalize that. I love my wife but can’t help to notice when a beautiful lady (that isn’t my wife) walks by. However, I e never went to her and said just wanted you to know I checked out that other girls butt. Lol. But regardless, Barnes has it going like no vol basketball coach ever before. We are recruiting on par with the best teams in college basketball and if we know anything about Barnes we know he’ll coach them up and get he most out of the talent we get on campus. Instead of being butt hurt I’m forcing myself to just enjoy what’s happening here. It’s the best it’s ever been in my lifetime.

I manage to live in the conflict of resenting Barnes for his money grab and loving him for what he’s done and is doing. If anyone has a problem with it they can eat a bowl of f&*k.

The only reason Barnes entertained UCLA was because of Fulmer. Barnes felt like Fulmer didn't show the interest in supporting the basketball program both financially and in actual time spent traveling with the program.

If Fulmer had been a better AD and cared more about the basketball program then Barnes would have never even looked around. Blame Barnes all you want for looking at a blue blood and getting a raise, but the reason it got that far is Fulmer. So if you're mad about the entire situation make sure your anger is guided in the proper direction.

Notice you didn’t throw any stats out either, just insults. That is the stance of a person who knows they have nothing.

His seeding has a lot to do with it.
When seeded 1-4 he had 2 s16s, 2 e8s and 1 f4. (All in his first 10 seasons)
While here 1 sw16 with a 2 seed.
Does better when playing the lower seeded teams.
But, I do agree with you. Like to see him improve on it here.

Isn't CRB's mother about a 2 hour drive from Knoxville? Perhaps he wants to stay close to her and just didn't blab about it. You never see his wife in public, so maybe he wants to keep family somewhat anonymous and it's easier to just say that UT was better financially. Salary is determined by the market. He gets a lot because we want him here. There's nothing to see here... don't know why anybody is butthurt over his package. We've fired or run off about a half dozen basketball coaches in the last 30 years. I don't know why some can't be happy that we have a real good one now.
