If Mississippi State can pick and choose when their suspensions apply ( I fully realize those are self imposed) I think HT should miss the first half of the Vandy game.
I don't think those are self imposed penalties. The NCAA popped them and put them on three years probation and gave the guys involved 8 game penalties. They allowed State to determine when the penalties would be accessed.

It was clear he wasn't on concussion protocol, because concussion protocol isn't chilling out on the sideline during an SEC football game, jumping around and high fiving guys, yelling, with a towel on his head.

He came off the field with his left arm limp at side after his 2nd INT. I think he hurt his neck/shoulder on that strange faceplant.

It’s a new era on the Bayou

Only took em 50 years. Goodness. Don't even care about lsu, but even I complained yearly with how poorly outdated their offense was. Just want someone to challenge bama and their new offense just may be able to.

Their old offense: scored 10 points in 3 YEARS vs Bama...christ. Even our worst team ever outgained them in 2017...

Possibly the only thing the sports source ever said that I agree with -
"the OC is always the most criticized assistant. When a play doesn't work, it was the call, when it does, we compliment the player. And whatever plays we decide he should have called, always works...in our imaginations". 😅

Completely agree. Because everyone understands complex offenses so well from their xbox.

Funny thing is people rarely complain about DCs unless it is something blatant...because literally no one knows what is happening over there 🤣 All they know from madden is to blitz every...single...play.

I was actually surprised at how light Shoop kept the box late in the second half. Chaney was spreading them out, and it was clear MSU had a healthy respect for our receivers.
They had defended the run well most of the game. Probably expecting the same. We were really living by the big plays, mostly throws. And chaney had already went for a punchout to JJ that couldve been caught and a dagger.

Hell, even we were massively surprised we marched it right down the field in the 4Q. Imagine ole Bob's face. No one saw that coming but our own players.

Not that Hilinski has played that well, but he may be what stands between us and a bowl. Their 3rd stringer is trash. So weird our fate may hinge on a mediocre freshman qb playing or not. Their D and run game is good enough to beat us either way, we need every little edge we can get.

Two consecutive weeks of Maurer being dinged up. Logical for coaches to rest Maurer, let him heal and rely on JG to manage the Bama game... and Chaney to manage JG. Apparently, the coaches feel more comfortable moving Crouch and Beasley to fill in for Henry T and provide backup at ILB than they do having JJP in the 2-deep. I suppose that could change if he has a good practice week.
Injuries slowly piling up. I know Pruitt will go 200% vs Bama, but for our bowl hope sake, I wish we could just skip the whole dang thing and not let bama show off its EDM lights either. I hope they have a power outage because of them and they game is called and they look dumb🤔. We can finish 6-5 idc

I will say this, JG did a GREAT job reading the entire field on pass plays, and going through his progressions properly yesterday. That’s something we haven’t seen him do earlier in the year. He had a bad tendency to stare down his receivers But yesterday that tendency didn’t show up. Albeit yesterday was a smaller sample Size for JG, but he still did a tremendous job reading the entire field/defense.
It is like watching from the sideline made him realize our OL ain't trash anymore and he can read the field with some confidence.

JJP will be a special teams specialist till the end

Love the quote from Byrd. Dude is humble and correct, the 2 freshman making great blocks really did the work there. Huge effort plays all around and correct read and quick throw by JG.
He even moved WRs on his right presnap and looked that way first. I was like, wuh? WRs blocking is always critical. CJP mentioned that in post game presser.

CBJ 2.0 up at Minnesota is having a real 2016-UT like season. 6-0 with 4 wins of 7 or fewer points and an OT win, including

By 7 over fcs South Dakota
By 3 over Fresno St in 2OT
By 3 over Ga Southern

Gonna crash real hard soon like we did.

But they don't face a ranked team until week 9...must be nice.
