Just watched SEC Now and they spent maybe 2 minutes on the Tennessee game. Didnt hardly show any highlights, I assumed they would have talked about how the D stopped the SEC leading rusher.

Yeah it's not like mcelwain recruited great... They have simply developed their players. Recruiting classes no better than ours. Their OL was supposed to be disastrous, as was Franks, no one knew Trask...they developed all these elements. They aren't going to regress I am sure.
No dc came from miss st.

They were below us in Team Talent when season began. They were 15th. We were 14th.
Those rankings are deceiving to me.
It's absolutely NOT all our players and even those it refers to, would probably do well in another conference.
But the simple fact is we have more decently ranked kids not recruited by SEC teams than Florida does.

Not implying Mullen hasn't done well, he has. But he definitely started with a more SEC ready team, imo.

If Chaney would have thrown the ball more with JG and JG turned the ball over then you would be on here criticizing Chaney and saying that we should have ran the ball more.
Absolutely not, just mix it up with some quick slants that were working in the first half... at one point we ran 9 running plays in a row while JG was in...

Maurer’s first INT was just a horrible read. They ran a hitch corner and Callaway was wide open on the small hitch. Not sure if Maurer read it wrong or just decided initially to go to Jennings on the corner before the play. Hard to criticize Chaney when a throw to Callaway gets you big yards.

2nd INT was bad. He tried to throw a jump ball and give Palmer a chance. But he underthrew it by a few yards. Palmer also did no favors. He didn’t try to break up the play or make a play on the ball. He just watched the guy catch it. If you are Palmer, you do everything to avoid the INT. Even if you get OPI

yeah I think Calloway chewed on him a bit after the play... you have got to go disrupt or go get that ball...

Possibly the only thing the sports source ever said that I agree with -
"the OC is always the most criticized assistant. When a play doesn't work, it was the call, when it does, we compliment the player. And whatever plays we decide he should have called, always works...in our imaginations". 😅

Maurer has a little Farve in him. Eyes get a little too big sometimes.

Hes young. I'm sure between Pruitt addressing it on the sideline and the film room he ll get it.

SIAD but what time is everyone predicting the USCjr game will be? I was hoping for it to be a later game as I think it would play into our favor. However I'm fearful it's going to be a nooner....

Josh is a few inches taller and was a lot bulkier his last 2 seasons. Freshman Dobbs was much more slender. Maurer needs to hit the weight room this offseason. But he has really good mobility

Maurer and Dobbs are same height. BM will put on the weight.

Dobbs was a better natural runner but BM is light-years ahead as a passer compared to underclassman Dobbs.
