Wow ... some people , check it out
2013 - year before Pruitt arrived UGA D-ranked 89

2014 - Pruitt first year as DC UGA D-ranked 16
2015- Pruitt 2nd & final year uga D ranked 8

So ... you were saying
I gave you the game that cost Richt his job. From that game on, he was dead man walking, Truthfully, anyone that gives up 400 yards rushing shouldn’t even go back to the office. Of course 2015 was better on defense, UGA knew they had to play keep away offense. They rushed almost 40 times a game because they had Greyson Lambert as QB so Pruitt should be used to this.

Yeah, I wouldn't call asking that your defensive-minded head coach field a defense that can line up correctly every play, and show at least a modicum of improvement as asking for an "overnight turn".

He’s shown improvement but it’s not where you want it so you fall back on your already formed opinion. See I can do it too...

My problem from the beginning with the Pruitt hire was that we severely overpaid and have a lopsided buyout for a 1st time HC. Fulmer could have gotten Pruitt for 2mil or less.

You don’t go balls deep on an experiment or your 4-5 choice (as people say he was).

Sorry, that is just laughable to me. How much he's being paid has zero effect on his performance, and as I said the other day, it sounds as if he was making 50,000 a year you'd be fine with him.

So ONE game cost Richt his job ???

Wow , and also please explain why Saban after smartt left for the uga job said that Pruitt was by far his #1 choice and the first guy he called. Will hang up and listen

But but we could have gotten Leach for the same money and fan fired him too after 2 years.

No the locker room got him fired. The weak mentality of I’m a senior I’m suppose to start got him fired. Luckily he’s running those guys off at a Tennessee tho

I remember when Pruitt was there, that they had some locker room issues. I think it went back to the narrative of Richt being soft/ his team's being soft. Some of those defensive players didn't like how Pruitt coached them, but the results were undeniable. From 32nd in 2013 (year before he got there), to 7th in 2015 (his last year there). IIRC Kirby had a lot of those same locker room issues that the defense had in 2016 when he took over.

Clearly changing the culture of a program means getting rid of people that don't think the same way. I think that's one of our biggest problems we've got right now. Changing a listing culture isn't easy and it takes time.

Now, Pruitt making UGA a top program is maybe a little too much credit, but he helped. He certainly didn't get Richt fired. Richt had many opportunities to win national championships, but always came up short.

So, former Georgia player, and former Georgia GA, who now hosts a radio show called "Football Fridays in Georgia", thinks UT should keep Pruitt because of reasons?

Maybe we should just let our rivals pick all of our coaching staff in the next search?

I don’t know that they could sabotage our program any worse than our own administration over the past decade.

Where did I say he is horrible?

You don't want to judge him on the product he is putting on the field at UT, so you want to fall back on his "coaching success" at other schools, but you want to misconstrue the reality of that experience as if he's some kind of paragon of defensive genius.

I'm sorry that the reality of his body of work doesn't support your claims, but that's not my fault.
That's a boom roasted right there

Why didn’t Smart want Pruitt? He was under contract and easily could have kept him on staff. Why did Smart go after a CB coach instead of the experienced Pruitt? Why did his last employers not fight to keep him? FSU didn’t even try and UGA said, yeah, no thanks.

I like Pruitt, said it since day one, my concern was if being a HC was his Peter Principle, which I also voiced day one on here. I do think he is a good DC, good recruiter, but the hyperbolic theme of this thread, well, it’s foolish. Pruitt did nothing to ‘establish’ UGA as it sits today other than help get Richt fired, which is Richt’s fault. He doesn’t/didn’t know how to reign in his coaches.

In the real world, people do not have the luxury at severely underperforming at a job for an indeterminate amount of time.

If Pruitt suddenly shows signs that he actually knows what a football is and improvements are more than negligible, then I will eat my words.

You shouldn't always take the criticism as 'fan fired.' How about take it as it is, which is criticism.

But if it had been up to me, I would have never hired him in the first place but it is what it is.

If you don’t like fan fired probably not a good idea to fire him at the first sign of trouble.

Ok...you don't get it. You are one of those defend at any cost guys but you know I do suspect that you are The Gump himself, anyway

Did I say it was you or just the general idea on this board? Since you can provide nothing but insult having a conversation with you is pointless.
