It’s very likely wishful thinking. Just think Cut is exactly what this program needs right now.

I know he recommended we hire Doeren last time, and I wonder if that’s after he turned the job done or if we didn’t even ask him.
Currie offered him the job.

We knew Pruitt would require time and we are all (rightly) losing our minds 2nd season. At what point do we settle on a dude and let him work?
Losing the games we’re losing (and the way we’re losing) would be unacceptable if it were Year 1 or Year 25.

And to be honest, I have seen very few say “fire him now!” It’s mostly “oh, this is the end.”

Yeah.... Take a trip over to the FF or twitter. You just ain’t looking in the right places.

JG almost certainly transfers at the end of this season, but would be interesting if he ends up on a team that plays in a post-NYE bowl. His recruiting thread was started in 2013 and there's a chance we could watch him take a snap in college in 2021.
>Bench JG for Maurer
>4-8 season
>Jalen Hurts wins the Heisman, 3rd straight for OU QBs
>JG enters transfer portal, signs with OU.
>JG 2020 Heisman winner, 4th straight for OU QBs
>All of Volnation

Do you think Dooley and Jones were not given ample time? I think the perception that Tennessee has not given their coaches time is widely overstated.
I think Fulmer should have been given time to get his Clawfense going. He was bringing in Bryce Petty and Tajh Boyd at quarterback. Clemson took our droppings and became national Champions on them.

Most people predicted that we would go 7 and 5 this year before the season started. If that still happened meaning we go 6 and 0 against the teams that aren't Georgia and Alabama, would you be satisfied? and would it make you excited for year 3? Or would you still be ready to move on from Pruitt? Please give yes or no answers and not well that's not happening so it doesn't matter.
Yes

If Fulmer had come back in 2009, Clawson wouldn’t have been with him. Essentially fired after 5 games.

You normally have a decent feel one way or the other by the end of year 2 no later than the end of the 3rd. That doesnt mean it's a foregone conclusion by any means. Half way thru season 4 a lot of people thought the last guy was on his way. By the end of the season half that group had a different opinion.

Most would have taken a .500 record through 2 years if he could recruit at a high level during that span. Truthfully the big payoff is what everyone wants to see and that's probably a minimum of 4 years away regardless of who's here.

Pruitt is making this harder on himself than it already is which was anything but easy.

I dont know what the answer is honestly. Short of his team completely quitting on him I dont think I would fire him this year. He hasn't given any reason to be confident yet. But the bigger issue to me is those that thought he could handle it to begin with.

If he ultimately fails ( and at this pace its epic) you have to question why any level of confidence should be had for the next attempt.

Has anybody else watched Nebraska QB, Adrian Martinez ball out and think, "man, he would be our starting QB, right now if Pruitt could have hung on to him and UT would probably be, at the least 3-1, right now" ?
Frost called Adrain as soon as he took the Nebraska job. It was all over after that.
